Key Responsibilities

• As a member of the ChemDev project team, identify and effectively communicate the best suitable scale-up strategy for a process including recommendations for the application of new processing technologies.
• Play an important role in facilitating a seamless technology transfer of processes to GSC by the application of state-of -the-art tools and procedures.

Capital Projects

• Act as client representative for capital projects, to ensure all the customer needs are incorporated into the design and installation of new plant and equipment.
• Identify areas of weakness in the portfolio of processing technologies (plant and equipment) and submit proposals to address these.
• Define and seek approval for the detailed project scope of plant and equipment projects, and obtain approval for capital orders and PIP's.
• Review and make recommendations on design proposals put forward by contractors, project engineers, and equipment suppliers.
• Organise HAZOP studies, act as technical recorder, and issue HAZOP report for all installations where appropriate.
• Issue commissioning programmes, lead commissioning activities, and issue final reports.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspection visits for new equipment, prior to acceptance on site.

Job Scope

The Process Engineer applies engineering principles and techniques to optimise the production processes in a manufacturing environment to meet organisational objectives. Administered by the Workforce Advancement Federation (WAF), the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Biomedical Manufacturing Executives is a premier talent development initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of skilled professionals for Singapore’s Biomedical manufacturing industry. This comprehensive 15-month programme features structured on-the-job training (OJT) provided at Novartis Singapore Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Pte Ltd (NSPM), facilitating the practical application of acquired knowledge and ensuring participants develop the essential competencies required for their roles.

Eligilibity for CCP:

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident;

• Minimum 21 years old;

• Mid-Career Individual: Graduated, or completed National Service, whichever is later, for at least 2 years* prior at the point of application; or

• Fresh Graduate: Graduated, or completed National Service, whichever is later;

• Not in a similar job function prior to joining Career Conversion Programme (CCP);

• Have not attended the same programme – Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Biomedical Manufacturing Executives / Professionals (Train-and-Place with Commitment to hire) – previously;

• Have not been funded under the same programme – Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Biomedical Manufacturing Executives / Professionals (Train-and-Place with Commitment to hire) – previously.

• Should not be shareholders, immediate ex-employees of Novartis, or be related to shareholders of Novartis.

Successful candidates must be able to commence the program by March 2025.

Job Purpose

Support all activities in maintaining a QC Raw Materials release lab in BioPharmOps QC. Testing of incoming raw materials and consumables, to support production needs and document in accordance with written testing SOP’s and in accordance with local/ international regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain QC Raw Materials laboratory in full cGMP-compliance.

• Track and execute individual training requirements to ensure completion on time including new methods and instrumentation.

• Ensure laboratory operations are in accordance to cGMP standards

• Perform raw material testing in accordance current testing monographs and in accordance with local/ international regulations as such as United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), European Pharmacopoeia (EP), American Chemical Society (ACS) and/ or Internal Validated Methods.

• Ensures that testing completed in a timely manner based on plan.

• Support laboratory routine operations such as inventory management and house-keepings.

• Support the optimization of work flows in the QC Raw Material Laboratory.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma with 4 to 5 years relevant working experience in GMP-regulated industries in Quality Control. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• New entrants to biopharmaceutical industry and should not be holding a bond obligation with any organisation

• Background knowledge on analysis of USP and EP pharmacopeia methods in GMP-regulated industries in Quality Control Raw Materials laboratory.

• Preferably a working knowledge of FDA and ex-USA regulatory requirements as well as industry quality management tools, standard, and quality systems.

Mandatory Skills

• Recent experience in working with Java J2EE applications
• Experience in application support role for min 1 years for support or Developers willing to learn with good knowledge of Java, Unix, SQL
• Experience in programming languages such as JAVA/J2EE.
• Experience in Unix commands , SQL queries
• Knowledge of web applications, batch jobs, JBOSS, MariaDB, SQL, Shell
• Knowledge of Job scheduling, MQ setup , C:D setup experience is a plus
• Exposure to banking industry is a plus

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

REQUIREMENT

• Support the generation of cGMP documentation including qualification protocols, SOP and production batch record issuance.
• Co-ordinate internal review and approval of documentation
• Proactively progress documents to achieve schedule adherence and to site policies & compliance with cGMP’s.
• Initiating Production Change control, deviation, and handling of related CAPA activities, task implementation using Trackwise. Assist in the preparation of reports/presentations as required.
• To update and format documentation including SOPs, forms, logbooks, and label templates.
• Prepare label templates and print labels as required for finished product.
• Write/review manufacturing documentation (SOPs,Manufacturing Records & Logbooks) ensuring it is current, accurate and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Track and trend relevant technical and business process metrics to ensure operations are performing effectively and efficiently.
• To arrange quotation and purchase requisition all required production consumables.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Diploma qualification in life science, engineering or related qualification
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a cGMP facility, in a documentation role is desirable.
• Experience with facility start-up projects (brown field or green field) is desirable.
• Excellent computer skills MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint).
• Good communication and interpersonal skill.
