Fabrica AI is reinventing how robots are developed. Currently novel robots take 5-20 years. We are building a design automation platform to bring it down to a month, and have already demonstrated significant progress by developing tile grouting robots in record time. Robotics simulation and reinforcement learning has been advancing a lot making it 1000x cheaper to train robots compared to 5 years ago, and as Jensen Huang said at Nvidia GTC 2024, "the ChatGPT moment for robotics may be just around the corner." Your internship would revolve around bringing our robot to market. You may be remunerated with a combination of salary and share options. This internship requires a candidate to have both an engineering background and a reasonable business acumen. Great communications skills are required as we work with many external contract manufacturers.

1. Pushing our product to pilot production (design for manufacturing, design for reliability, design for user-friendliness)
2. Connecting manufacturers and our R&D team to build and iterate on our prototype, creating new avenues for manufacturing at scale, manufacturing for reliability
3. Sourcing for and testing appropriate equipment and materials for R&D
4. Visiting industry trial sites, giving appropriate feedback to product development team
5. Speaking to industry players, ground workers, understanding the process of tile grouting to help us shape our solution, especially from an operational point of view
6. Hiring, recruitment, and outreach
7. Any other operational duties

Job Description

The hire will focus on computational modelling of metal 3D Printing. The initial contract may be ~ 1.5 years, and can be renewed later.

Qualifications

The candidate is required to have expertise in simulation of 3D printing. The candidate should have a PhD degree on relevant areas, e.g., mechanical engineering, materials science. The candidate is expected to complete high-quality systematic research works.

Job Specification • Overall responsible for the QA/QC and R&D functions • To lead and ensure a productive and high-performance QA and R&D work environment • To provide effective and efficient technical support services to support the company’s business growth and operations. • To develop and revise the quality assurance framework for the company and to modify and improve the existing production standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), when necessary. • To collaborate with all departments, customer, suppliers and government regulatory bodies to ensure that quality is a high priority in the company. • To drive projects and processes to ensure compliance with the various food safety and hygiene standards and requirements. • To lead and report on quality audits, identify and resolve problems highlighted in yield reports. • Ensure that all food safety, quality related and non-compliance issues are investigated and that corrective measures are implemented and adhered to. • Oversee of GMP and food safety training for Production personnel. • To be involved in the feasibility study for setting-up overseas factories. • To perform new product development from ingredient sourcing, laboratory and kitchen trials to commercialization, focusing especially on sauces. • To conduct continual improvement of existing products. • To conceptualize new and innovative products. • To source for new and alternative suppliers. • To conduct sensory evaluation and approval of new and/or alternative raw materials. • To prepare product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs. • Collaborate with the Marketing department to understand the customers’ needs and requirements and to also assist in troubleshooting customers’ technical issues (when necessary). • Ensure all product creation complies with customer, government and legal regulatory requirements within the country of use. • To conduct product stability and shelf-life studies of new products. • To develop innovative solutions to help grow and value-add to customers’ requirements, ensuring that any solutions provided are within the stipulated cost parameters and manufacturing capability. • To facilitate the handover of new product(s) so as to ensure the smooth transition from test kitchen to Production. Requirements:
