• Serve as risk lead or subject matter expert in support of risk assessments and hazards analysis e.g. microbial control risk assessments.
• Develop technical training material and conduct technical training for production staff.
• Support the technology transfer of new products/processes e.g. perform field testing.
• Create, review, revise and approve technical reports and engineering documents such as URS, FS, SDS, P&IDs, etc.
• Design, procure, commission, and qualify new equipment.
• Work effectively as part of a team responsible for ensuring successful and efficient processes for the production of recombinant proteins.
• Serve as subject matter expert for regulatory inspections as well as internal audits and support inspection response.
• Serve as RSTO representative in global network teams such as UOTs and task forces.
• Experience in Downstream operations for Drug Substance Manufacturing Operations will be an advantage
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
• Assist in experimental design and troubleshooting as needed.

About You:

• Min. 5 years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant life science field (e.g., biology, biotechnology, biochemistry).
• Previous experience in a GMP environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Ensure all Lab Job Ticket assigned are performed accordingly and completed on time.

2. Independently and competently performs assigned tasks in a prioritized, logical, and timely manner in agreement with company laboratory and safety procedures with competence and minimum supervision

3. Tests in accordance with specifications provided.

4. Perform all core function/testing required by this position.

5. Assists in reviewing & writing of SOPs and standard test methods.

6. Enter test data and conditions into the lab system and can assemble into a simple report.

7. Capable of conducting internal R&R.

8. Troubleshoot lab equipment issues with assistance from M&E/ equipment vendor.

9. Prepare testing report

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable legal, Singapore standards, codes of practice, and other EHS requirements, providing clear guidance to the team.
• Develop, maintain, and test emergency response plans, organize CERT audits, and conduct relevant drills.
• Act as the primary liaison with local authorities on EHS matters, license renewals, and representation in key regulatory meetings.
• Oversee incident investigations, track corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely resolution of non-conformance issues.
• Conduct and manage risk assessments, site inspections, and environmental/industrial hygiene samplings, implementing risk reduction measures.
• Plan and conduct EHS audits, training, meetings, and promotional activities to enhance employee awareness and engagement.
• Establish and manage EHS objectives and continuous improvement programs.
• Manage contractor activities for in-house operations and shutdown maintenance (SDM).
• Spearhead initiatives for the implementation of Safety Case requirements and mitigative measures for Safety Critical Events in Major Hazard Installations.
• Collaborate across organizational levels to promote a strong safety culture.
• Lead projects for HSE improvement, including organizing annual safety campaigns.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in EHS roles, including at least 3 years in manufacturing or chemical plants, ideally on Jurong Island.
• Familiarity with chemical processes and unit operations.
• Diploma or higher qualification, with mandatory registration as a WSH Officer (MOM) and Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ISO14001 and SS651 (ISO45001) management systems.
• Ability to interpret P&ID drawings and apply this knowledge effectively.
• Self-driven with a collaborative working style and a commitment to safety excellence.
