Production Manager
Mercantile is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager for our mobile devices refurbishing facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the production process, managing the production team, and ensuring that quality standards are met in refurbishing mobile devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations, implement process improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will be critical in ensuring that production targets are met, and refurbished mobile devices are of high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management: Oversee the production process, including receiving, testing, repairing, and refurbishing mobile devices according to established quality standards and production schedules. Ensure that production targets are met, and that the production process is optimized for efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor and analyze production performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Quality Control: Establish and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that refurbished mobile devices meet or exceed quality standards set by the company and regulatory requirements. Implement quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, and audits, to identify and address quality issues in a timely manner. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to continuously improve quality control procedures and standards.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the refurbishing production process. Streamline and optimize production processes to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize defects. Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to continuously improve production processes and increase operational effectiveness.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the production team. Set performance expectations, monitor performance, and provide feedback and recognition to team members. Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to ensure adequate staffing levels and skills development. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture, and promote employee engagement and motivation.
Equipment and Facility Management: Manage the maintenance and upkeep of production equipment and facility to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production operations. Coordinate with maintenance personnel and external vendors for repairs and maintenance, and ensure that all equipment is calibrated and functioning properly. Identify and recommend equipment upgrades or replacements to improve production efficiency.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on production performance, including production output, quality metrics, and labor utilization. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize production operations. Provide regular reports to senior management on production performance and progress towards production goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
· Minimum 8 years of experience in production management, preferably in the electronics manufacturing industry.
· Strong understanding of mobile devices refurbishing processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations.
· Proven experience in managing production operations, achieving production targets, and driving process improvement initiatives.
· Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of production workers.
· Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate with all levels of the organization.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
