Job Description

• Scope of Work: NPI (New Product Introduction) and mass production, for assigned product (module, sub-assembly, instrument level) for LCMS.
• Product Quality, Yield, and Cycle Time: Lead cross functional team to drive continuous product and quality performance improvement i.e. factory yield, DEFOA, warranty/Annual Failure Rate and production efficiency (yield and cycle time).
• Product Development: Collaborate with R&D in product development and validation, and provide engineering support. Works with R&D to design, develop and release new tools or process technologies and is a resource for risk assessments and design for manufacturability. Influencing the design of the product and/or process to ensure manufacturability leveraging global supply chain, enabling prototyping and run manufacturing and realiability test, scale-up, and manage prototype transition into production. Develop manufacturing and test for new product i.e. responsible for the development of product manufacturing process, assembly fixture/tooling and test system. Design test procedures to optimize test time and troubleshooting. Actively participate design reviews and provide input on electronic circuit designs and obsolescence re-design. Define manufacturing process and test and product test plans. Support and implement the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production, and through the entire product life cycle.
• Product Sustenance: Performs a variety of engineering duties to support manufacturing operations. Provide technical support to day-to-day product issues and all product/manufacturing process related issues, which include customer quality issues, production line troubleshooting, product/part/process change validation, etc. Maintain & improve product quality. Redesign products/processes to meet cost objectives, obsolescence, and customer requirements. May be assigned as the technical leader to assist operating manager or as project lead for value engineering or CPE (current product engineering) projects, product/process improvement, product/process transfer, equipment and test enhancement, New Product Introduction.
• Process Improvement/Digitalization and Compliance, Lean Manufacturing: Ensure compliance to engineering change order (ECO) procedures and work instructions. Collaborate with R&D to transition design prototypes into cost-efficient, manufacturable (DFx) high-volume products. Implementing Lean Manufacturing principles within manufacturing. Design jig/fixtures for new product, to ensure product manufacturability. Utilizes digital solutions to optimize and maintain state of the art manufacturing processes.
• Supply Chain related: Collaborate with procurement and material engineering in the specification, sourcing and qualification of materials used in the design and production of Agilent products to meet quality, cost and manufacturability goals.
• Other tasks and responsibilities assigned by manager in support of business needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree or University Degree or equivalent in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Candidates with Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, Physics or Computer Science qualifications with strong product engineering experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications can enhance your qualifications. Examples include ASQ, QC/QA, EMC, and EMI.
• Knowledge in 6Sigma / Engineering Statistics (PFMEA, SPC, DOE, Process Capability), Value Stream Mapping, Qualification of equipment and Process Validation would be added advantages.
• Skills: Knowledge of probability and statistics, board-level product qualification procedures, manufacturing processes, and familiarity with tools like Microsoft Office and pythons. Knowledge in designing test fixture and tools is added advantage.
• Experience: At least 5+ years relevant experience, especially in manufacturing environment of Mass spectrometry. Vacuum system, electronics and test is desirable. Process characterization and validation using tools such as Cp/Cpk, and Design of Experiments techniques have added advantage. Product test methodology, test software and tester development are advantageous.
• Passionate, innovative, systematic problem-solving and leading on continuous improvement. Self-starter and proven track record of results in setting, implementing complex engineering projects and achieving the goals and demonstrated levels of creativity.
• Must possess strong engineering and analytical skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently.
• Strong team player with good interpersonal skill and excellent collaboration, oral and written communication skills.

Fabrica AI is reinventing how robots are developed. Currently novel robots take 5-20 years. We are building a design automation platform to bring it down to a month, and have already demonstrated significant progress by developing tile grouting robots in record time. Robotics simulation and reinforcement learning has been advancing a lot making it 1000x cheaper to train robots compared to 5 years ago, and as Jensen Huang said at Nvidia GTC 2024, "the ChatGPT moment for robotics may be just around the corner." A couple other companies are building on the same paradigm shift but we are the only ones using it to automate hardware design, not just software.

Building robots and a design automation platform together brings great synergy - the platform helps us develop robots faster than anyone else and the robots allow us to gather data and do experiments at scale. Data gathering can be done through partnerships with other robotics companies, but doing experiments is crucial for grounding the platform in reality and ensuring its usefulness. The grouting robots are already deploying daily at construction sites and bringing value to clients. We are currently negotiating sales worth around 500k USD. With manufacturing cost multiple times lower than companies using a traditional robotic arm, our robots have an ROI in weeks. Our robot is also small and simple to use, operating from a single button without the need to upload floorplans or do any complex setup. Soon we would be expanding into other simple and valuable robots for the construction industry.

We’ve raised over 2.5m USD from Hoxton Ventures, Credo Ventures, our Professor from Cambridge University, Woh Hup, and the owner of BHCC (listed construction company). We’ve 2500sqft of space in Singapore where we have over 20 team members, and 1200sqft of space in Czechia where we have our software team.

Ronald Luc (CTO) earned a degree in Math and Computer Science from Masaryk University, where he was a teaching assistant, and supervised several deep learning theses. He has years of industry experience in both machine learning and self driving cars. With Jakub he won TechFest Munich, one of the EU’s top hackathons; and represented Czechia at the International Olympiad in Informatics.

He has 100+ citations in research journals and four papers on sustainable energy. He previously worked at Entrepreneur First and has business development experience from other companies.

Your internship would revolve around bringing our robot to market. You may be remunerated with a combination of salary and share options. This internship requires a candidate to have both an engineering background and a reasonable business acumen.
