About our Production Engineering Team:
Liftoff’s Production Engineering team play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product delivery. You'll immerse yourself in a data-rich environment where your expertise will directly influence the enhancement of developer workflows, ensuring that every product and feature we release is not only reliable and efficient but also resonates with scale. It's more than just a job; it's about making a tangible impact in a team that values collaboration and innovation without the noise of industry buzzwords.
Responsibilities
- Learn and participate in end-to-end ownership to one of Liftoff's core backend infrastructure, including large scale real-time data processing pipelines and high-performance front end servers.
- Improve tooling and infrastructure to ship multiple times a day with quantified impact on millions of users and our business's revenue.
- Be part of an “engineering excellence” culture through state-of-the-art tools, risk-driven testing, explainable systems and code review.
- Become an expert in cutting-edge open source technologies (Kubernetes, Prometheus, ArgoCD and etc) that maximize software development velocity.
- Participate in architecting, building and maintaining infrastructure reliability of large scale, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Together with other engineering teams, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents.
- Pro-actively learn and seek mentorship from more senior members of the team
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science with 2+ years of professional experience, or
MS in Computer Science with 1+ years of professional experience, or equivalent for mid level
We are also open to new grads with BS / MS in Computer Science for entry level
- Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms;
- An incredible desire for quality and perfection, and the ability to temper it when necessary to ship.
- Knowledge of profiling and debugging distributed microservices is a plus
- Experience building monitoring for modern microservice architectures is a plus
- Experience building CI/CD for large distributed systems or backend architectures (preferably on Kubernetes) is a plus
- Have good team communication and collaboration skills.
- Passionate about helping others and invested in the team’s success
- Good at English (speaking, reading and writing)
Bonus:
- Experience in SRE / DevOps roles.
- Understanding of various security standards, protocols and implementation details.
- Previous professional experience writing in Golang, Java, Scala, Python, NodeJS, C or C++.
- Experience with Multi-Cloud Computing (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with Kubernetes/Openshift.
- Experience with large scale SQL/NoSQL databases (Redshift, Postgres, Redis, Mongo, Elasticsearch)
- Experience with large scale messaging / streaming systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Spark)
- Fluency in Mandarin is a plus, as we have clients and teams based in China. Having proficiency in the language will be an added advantage.
Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience. The following is our salary range for this role in Singapore: 85,000 - 105,000 SGD

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
