The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical systems, machinery, and tools in industrial plants across multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. This role requires supporting local teams, ensuring operational continuity, driving maintenance excellence, and supporting cross-regional projects to enhance plant performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Coordination and Support:

• Supervise and support mechanical maintenance teams across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
• Provide remote and on-site support, guiding local teams on best practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques.
• Facilitate collaboration across teams in different countries to ensure effective communication and efficient operations.Assist with training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills across regional team

Standardization of Maintenance Practices:

• Implement standardized maintenance procedures across all plants in the APAC region, ensuring uniformity in operations.
  • Ensure maintenance strategies align with company-wide objectives, KPIs, and global best practices.
  • Support local teams in adhering to global safety, compliance, and quality standards.

Maintenance Strategy and Optimization:

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across the APAC plants.
  • Monitor maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and increase machinery reliability across all plants.
  • Identify regional opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions in maintenance operations.
  • Analyze plant performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize machinery efficiency.

Cross-Regional Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting support to local maintenance teams in the event of mechanical failures or emergencies.
  • Travel to various APAC countries as needed to provide on-site support for critical mechanical issues or large-scale plant projects.
  • Monitor plant performance across the region, identifying trends and potential issues before they lead to downtime.

Project Support and Regional Coordination:

• Support the execution of large-scale projects, including machinery upgrades, installations, and major repairs in the APAC plants.
  • Coordinate with local teams, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the region’s specific needs and safety regulations.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

• Ensure all maintenance operations comply with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support safety audits and risk assessments across all APAC plants, ensuring teams are well-trained in safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of safety within all plants, ensuring maintenance practices follow industry-leading safety standards.

Documentation,Reporting, and Regional Performance:

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and project updates across the region.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on maintenance team performance, plant uptime, and cost management.
  • Track downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment performance metrics, providing insights for regional improvements.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

• Manage relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and external service providers across the APAC region.
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality parts and services.
  • Evaluate regional vendors for cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability.

• Identify requirements and features for semiconductor equipment and create concepts and architecture of new equipment.
• Design mechanical systems which involve the selection and use of motors, actuators, gear drives, pumps, and valves.
• Responsible for design verification and validation testing to ensure compliance with specifications, safety regulations and product requirements.
• Create a detailed Mechanical drawing and apply analysis tools like Fish Bone Diagram and FMEA.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in Die Sorter.
• Familiar with 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

· Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with the

· Proactively identifying potential failures, assessing and controlling operational risks on the Power Train with support from the 24/7 remote monitoring hub and expert support

· Proactively advising and assisting the Customer in planning, coordination with MPW for the execution of relevant inspection and maintenance activities.

· Analyzing, tracking and reporting monthly Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) data and relevant KPIs for the LTSA, for the purposes of invoicing and for monitoring performance.

· Collaborating with and supporting the technical communications between the Customer, various MPW group resources (E.g. LTSA Program Manager, Technical Advisors dispatched by MPW, Field Services, Engineering) and Local Vendors (E.g. Labour, Onsite Machining, Workshop and other Third Party Services) during each Planned or Unplanned Maintenance.

· Supporting the achievement of MPW’s common goals with the Customer including but not limiting to health and safety, environmental protection, customer satisfaction, unit availability, reliability, performance and emissions.

· Presenting and discussing with the Customer the scope and planning of Planned/ Unplanned Maintenance.

· Actively contributing to maintenance planning meetings, pre-outage and post-outage meetings between the Customer and MPW, confirming repair status with Repair Facilities.

· Supporting the Customer in the selection of spare parts to be kept on stock, aiming to increase the timely availability of necessary spare parts while optimizing inventory costs.

· Helping the Customer in selecting tools and equipment required for maintenance of the Covered Equipment.

· Coordinating and supporting the efficient dispatch of Parts and Technical Advisory Services.

Requirements

· Diploma/Degree in a relevant engineering or technical field

· 8 years of proven related work experience, preferably in the Power or Process Industries.

· Previous site work experience in Long Term Service Agreements, plant commissioning, field service, and/or maintenance and overhaul of GTCC power plants or industrial plants rotating equipment is preferable.

· Previous customer facing experience where there is regular interaction with plant personnel to provide troubleshooting support and to resolve problems.
