The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will be part of Vivance organization, reporting to the R&D Director in Singapore. He will contribute towards ME Engineering activities throughout the Product Development cycle of the Vivance Products.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering activities to develop new Products from concept to production
• Perform engineering activities required for support of released products for product development, quality improvement, COGS reduction, and manufacturing issues resolution.
• Work with other simulation/electronic/mechanical engineers to ensure product performance, reliability and cost expectations are met.
• Lead projects related to cost, quality, design, and productivity using methodology such as Tolerance Stack, Process Capability (Cpk), FMEA, Minitab, etc.
• Operate within a project team and assume responsibility to design, develop and verify new products from concept through to production.
• Participate in the preparation and review of system documentation including System Specifications, Regression Analyses, Risk Analyses, Regulatory Submissions
• Testing, verification, and validation of products and alterations to ensure they meet the necessary requirements and specifications
• Identify gaps in design proposals, technical capabilities/techniques, and supports the development of strategies to overcome them through DFM & DFS practices.
• Conduct technical design reviews at system or subsystem levels in projects.
• Work within medical regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, IEC)

JOB SCOPE (Design Engineer)

- Design, test, debug and commission the company’s product, which include jigs and fixtures, customized semi and fully automatic machines.

- Attend meetings with customers to discuss on their requirements in new projects and/or project proposals.

- Research and develop new ideas and concept to enhance company’s performance and competitiveness in the field of industrial automation.

- Procure and/or assist in the procurement of necessary items to enable the performance of above duties.

Requirements

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a leadership role within EOS Defence Systems (EOS DS) and is responsible for solving problems using disciplined engineering techniques (e.g. software, mechanical, electronics, system, testing etc) to enable development of baselined and software designs that support the product development and product goals of EOS DS.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer exercises in-depth engineering technical knowledge within or across specialist disciplines and the ability to enable strategic alignment. Adherence to governance and standards and mobilising people to achieve business outcomes with the appropriate levels of integrity, safety and ethics is critical to the role.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer exercises initiative and judgement in the interpretation and application of policy and procedures. The Senior Mechanical Engineer may lead a small team and are responsible for managing, developing and guiding staff to achieve their full potential. They provide a high level of support to their team, in consultation with senior leadership, suggest staffing and workflow priorities and monitor and manage performance, health and wellbeing.

Primary Duties:

Specific Functions & Tasks

• Lead and support a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the timely and professional delivery of project outcomes.
• Produce mechanical designs that enable and satisfy defined requirements in the specified time frames.
• Work with systems engineers to ensure that all requirements are identified, captured and analysed.
• Work with project engineers to ensure design solutions are delivered on time and on budget and meet identified requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum educational requirements of a Bachelor’s and/or Masters’ degree in mechanical/materials engineering.
• Direct experience as a lead piping engineer working on FPSO projects.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience, with Oil & Gas projects (fixed installations and FPSOs), with significant experience working as a Senior or Lead Engineer.
• Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector, in a similar role and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.
• Shall be skilled with commonly used business software applications such MS Office, MS project and drafting software such as AutoCad and ed modelling software such as PDMS.
• Shall be capable of supporting the development and implementing recommendations from third party safety studies and workshops, including HAZID/ENVID, SIL Classifications, Smoke, Gas, Fire and Explosion Risk Analyses, QRA, ALARP assessments, Fire and Gas Mappings and Noise Studies.

• Advanced CAD Skills – Proficiency in using advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
