What can you expect?

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer / Researcher who will assist the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models to power our recommendation system and search engine. Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in system implementation, ongoing maintenance, and support of existing systems, as well as providing proposals for new projects. This role will primarily serve a key customer, a prominent Japanese bank in Singapore.

Job Duties:

• System Implementation: Lead end-to-end system implementation projects, including planning, design, setup, testing, and system release.
• System Maintenance & Support: Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution for existing systems to ensure smooth operations.
• Project Proposal & Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with clients to understand requirements, evaluate solutions, and prepare detailed project proposals.

Key Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: - 8+ years in IT projects, particularly within banking or financial institutions. - 5+ years of hands-on experience in system infrastructure implementation. - 3+ years of experience working with major banks in Japan is highly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of system infrastructure, including Windows OS, Oracle Database, VMware, and other system operation products. Familiarity with JP1 or similar enterprise-level system operation tools. Proficient in programming and scripting languages (e.g., WinBatch, PowerShell).
• Language Proficiency: Advanced skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in both English and Japanese language to effectively communicate with clients and teams.
• Customer-Focused: Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to understand and address client needs effectively.
• Additional Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve software-related issues in collaboration with product support teams. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in working cross-functionally with internal and external IT teams.

What you'll do :

Conduct reviews for compliance of the ML models in accordance with overall platform governance principles such as versioning, data / model lineage, code best practices and provide feedback to data scientists for potential improvements

· Develop pipelines for continuous operation, feedback and monitoring of ML models leveraging best practices from the CI/CD vertical within the MLOps domain.

· Optimize AI development environments (development, testing, production) for usability, reliability and performance.

· Have a strong relationship with the infrastructure and application development team in order to understand the best method of integrating the ML model into enterprise applications (e.g., transforming resulting models into APIs)

· Work with data engineers to ensure data storage (data warehouses or data lakes) and data pipelines feeding these repositories and the ML feature or data stores are working as intended

· Evaluate open-source and AI/ML platforms and tools for feasibility of usage and integration from an infrastructure perspective

· Staying updated about the newest developments, patches and upgrades to the ML platforms in use by the data science teams

What Will Make You Shine :

· Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as an ML Engineer, specializing in Python, ML libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, H2O), and large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Dask)

· Advanced proficiency in Python for both ML development and automation tasks.

· Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP preferred) and container orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes)

· Extensive experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)

· Solid grasp of MLOps principles, including model operationalization, monitoring and scaling (experience with Kubeflow, Sagemaker, etc. is a plus)

· Proficiency in workflow orchestration (Airflow, Ctrl-M), logging & monitoring (Splunk, Geneos) as well as bash scripting and Unix/Linux command-line tools

· Experience in establishing and refining AI/ML development processes, standards and toolsets

Roles & Responsibilities

● Assist CTO and research team in the daily running of aerogel product development and research.

● Design and develop the pilot process plant for upscale production.

● Develop product testing protocols and procedures based on product specifications to test and determine the full operating profiles.

● Run diagnostics equipment, generate reports, trend analysis, develop design of experiments.

● Design and develop new aerogel formulations and improve early stage formulation with our proprietary process for commercial application

● Work with potential customers for pilot trials and improve existing aerogel product to achieve customer specification

● Optimise aerogel fabrication methods and test equipment for aerogel production

● Define experiments and determine meaningful data to support evaluation and technical decision
