As part of the MEP team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer provides design input into the projects (particularly in the Mechanical Services area) to ensure successful project delivery and the ongoing development of the team's effective project management and technical capability. You will also contribution to the strategic development of the MEP business, including (but not limited to) the positioning of the business within the local marketplace, business plan development and evaluation, and the ongoing development of associated skills and procedures within the limit.

• Lead collaborative efforts within the team to develop detailed design models and simulations for mechanical and HVAC systems in data center projects, utilizing advanced modeling techniques and industry best practices.
• Spearhead the design of complex mechanical systems tailored specifically for data center environments, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in cooling, ventilation, and fire suppression systems.
• Drive the development of innovative mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, incorporating cutting-edge technologies to meet the unique demands of data center infrastructure.
• Proactively manage project activities to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and effectively address any significant conflicts or challenges, leveraging extensive expertise to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Assume primary responsibility for designated segments of design projects, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards and precision in execution, while representing the team in key internal and client-facing meetings to provide expert insights and recommendations.

Is this role right for you?

• Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar area.
• Atleast 7 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering within a consulting business environment.
• Proficiency in relevant software and design tools.
• Experience in leading the development and implementation of Mechanical Engineering solutions across a range of projects.
• Strong technical expertise in Mechanical Engineering principles and practices.
• Having achieved a recognized Chartered Engineer status would be considered an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all monitoring system of the building management faciities are in good operating condition (error free) and feedback on all alarms and errors generated form BMS.
• Perform scheduling of facilities and building management services to facilitate events and arising requirement.
• Reporting and compilation of daily, feedback, building management facilities faults and activities.
• Operate the plant at the most efficient operating condition and ensure all abnormities are reported for corrective actions
• Validate all facilities & Building management maintenance work carried out by the contractors and ensure compliance to the prescribed standards
• Perform routine building management facilities activities including inventory control. Critical systems checks and functional testing. Able to respond and take action in response to facilities crisis management activities including: power outages, fire alarms, ACMV outages.
• Analyse data and identify trends with facility issues to determine root cause and take appropriate action.
• Responds to BMS alerts, investigate and feedback on any outstanding issues or events and respond to emergency situations and be on standby duty as required.
• Provide technical support to all aspects M&E operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 activities to achieve 100% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.
• Assist in all site construction activities and installations, in coordination with external contractors to ensure system design, installation and testing adhere to operational standards. Witness testing of all equipment during commissioning and validate sequence of operations and receipt of all operational documentation.
• Maintain compliance with local workplace safety & health (WSH) standards and local electrical and building codes.
• Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP) and emergency response procedures (ERP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.
• Participates in the building management maintenance of all significant planned and emergency maintenance events for the facility and ensure these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of the critical loads supported by these systems.

• Monitors the inspection and documentation activities of QA Inspector to ensure complain with inspection test plan and project quality requirements

• Oversees the assigned inspectors work performance and make sure the completions of tasks are as per the project plans and schedules
• Deploys QA inspectors for project inspection activities
• Liaises with Owner and class pertaining to quality related issues and technical and technical calibrations and queries
• Handles and resolves quality related issues arising from sub-contractor and in-house production
• Coordinates the testing and commissioning requirements with Engineering, Project Manager, QA Department, and vendors
• Reports non-conformance and issue Improvement note, where necessary
• Performs any other assigned duties and responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture / Marine and Offshore / Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines
• API 570. CWSIP 3.1 Certified Welding Inspector
• At least 3 years of relevant Quality Assurance working experience, preferably in the offshore and marine industry
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced environment
