Role Overview:

The primary purpose of this role is to independently define key concepts and deliverables, plan, manage, and control the engineering deliverables required for assigned small-to-middle-scale projects. The role includes effectively determining requisitions for mechanical components and/or equipment packages, executing and delivering these packages on time, in compliance with company specifications, procedures, and stakeholder requirements. The role will also include providing guidance to the assigned team.

Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Equipment Expertise:Be conversant with specifications and requirements for mechanical rotating equipment (such as Process Gas Compressors, Screw Compressor Packages, Reciprocating Compressors, Gas Turbines, Sea Water Injection Pumps, etc.) in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  
• Design and Selection:Responsible for the design and selection of rotating equipment in EPC projects across various engineering phases (Feasibility/FEED studies, detailed engineering for Offshore, FPSO projects).
  
• Planning & Requisitions:Lead the planning and direction of technical specifications, standards, and requisitions for engineers.
  Ensure all technical requirements are incorporated into engineering deliverables and are validated with the Section Head, Project Management Team, and client.
  
• Bid Evaluation:Independently evaluate technical aspects of bids received from suppliers, concluding the technical assessment.
  Lead complex packages and/or high-risk equipment.
  
• Supplier Coordination:Assist in placing orders and independently review supplier documents (data sheets, drawings) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  Act as a focal point for liaising and coordinating with stakeholders.
  
• Team Oversight:Oversee the technical and administrative management of the mechanical team, ensuring quality and schedule adherence for deliverables.
  
• Site Support:Provide technical/engineering support and advice during quality control work at the supplier's shop and construction/commissioning work at the site.
  
• Issue Resolution:Independently resolve technical issues during the execution of package engineering, fabrication, and post-delivery stages using expert knowledge and technical expertise.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in the oil and gas sector (FPSO, offshore applications preferred).

What you’ll do:

• Responsible for the project development studies such as feasibility study, site selection, inputs for ESIA, technical due diligence, technology selection etc.

• Source and identify suppliers for direct/ indirect materials/ services to expand supplier base and for new project/production needs.
• Obtain quotes from new sources to provide costing information and cost reduction
• Lead in conducting periodic price negotiation with suppliers to ensure competency in cost for materials/ services.
• Be part of team to conduct supplier qualification audit as well as parts qualification to ensure suppliers can meet company needs.
