Role:

As the Program Officer, you will support the APLMA secretariat in driving awareness on the importance of malaria elimination, advocating for key issues to sustain elimination progress and ensuring malaria remains a highly visible locally, regionally and globally. You will also support communications efforts as well as provide broader support to the APLMA Secretariat’s advocacy efforts to elevate visibility of the Asia Pacific region’s drive to malaria elimination.

Responsibilities:

Program Communications

• Under the guidance of the Communications Manager, support and administer APLMA’s social media, digital engagement, website and newsletter.
• Develop and curate content, social media posts to amplify and profile key malaria elimination efforts and achievements in the region.
• Screen, curate and share media/journal/online articles relevant to APLMA's work and goals.
• Assist in the production of media kits, reports, websites, videos, campaigns and external communications.
• Liaise and work closely with agency partners to coordinate media briefings, events and interviews.
• Provide communications related support to the Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN), a program hosted by APLMA as assigned.

Internal Communications

• Develop and implement metrics to evaluate projects and produce slides/reports as needed for all communications activity.
• Coordinate, inform and engage APLMA staff on communication activities.

Program Support

• Assist internal teams in providing support on programs and campaigns to key issues in a fast-evolving global health landscape as assigned.
• Assist in planning and managing events (virtual and in person), coordinate external partners and service providers.
• Support internal write-ups on program content when required.
• Assist to collate regular program updates from various teams across the organization.
• Support ad-hoc projects within APLMA as directed including research, the development of briefing material, presentations, reports and other policy and advocacy materials.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications, journalism, public relations or related discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of work experience in communications, the development sector, and/or an external relations role.
• Work experience in NGOs, foundations, development sector and/or government institutions will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders (i.e. government officials, journalists, and academics).
• Excellent persuasive writing and oral communications skills in the English language.
• Proficiency in digital technology, social media platforms and content development tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Capcut, Photoshop, Webflow, Canva, MailChimp etc.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools such as Meltwater.
• Demonstrated passion for public health advocacy work and is a keen learner.
• Strong critical thinking skills and a positive working attitude
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work in diverse and multi-cultural teams.
• Able to travel overseas when required.

1. IT Technical Responsibilities

1. Maintenance, administration and monitoring of Servers
2. Perform Server administration and management of windows servers, VMWare, AD Domain services, AD Certificate services, DHCP, DNS, MS Exchange and Email filtering
3. User account creation and deletion for Windows, Emails, BT, VPN, Messenger and door access

Requirements

- Minimum Diploma in Information Technology related field

- Minimum 1 year of experience

- Experience in firewalls, routers and switches configurations

- Experience in MS Active Directory Account, MS Exchange, VMWare and Linux administration

- Meticulous, resourceful, independent, good interpersonal skills and sense of responsibility

- Possess MCSA, MCP, CCNA knowledge and working experience in financial sector will be added advantage
