SJI International Elementary School is seeking an experienced and adaptable Elementary Counsellor and Family Engagement Officer to start in July 2025. The preferred candidates are those who have a strong counselling background and a deep understanding of the cultural and linguistic challenges that our students and their families face, particularly those from a Chinese background. Strategic Leadership

• Organise and maintain records of students in the counselling programme, interventions, allocation of resources and student data
• Alongside other counsellors, provide induction for new teachers, ensuring that they understand the policies and practices of the Counselling Department and their role in working alongside teachers
• Liaise closely with the AP Student Success and VP, sharing information around identified students, staffing, support programmes, assessments and data, and the provision of resources
• Work alongside the SLT to develop realistic, yet challenging goals for well-being and counselling as part of the Elementary School Improvement Plan (ESIP)
• Establish systems to monitor home background and guardianship of students, making note of changes in circumstances that may affect the well-being and/or safety of the child and being the point of contact for parents, particularly those in the Chinese speaking community.

Curriculum and Pedagogy

• Provide professional development and opportunities for teachers to engage in professional dialogue around supporting student well-being, social and emotional development and needs
• Meet and work collaboratively with grade level teams during the planning of units of work that focus on well-being, social and emotional development and support in the delivery of this.

• To review all Authority's and Contractor's drawings
• To provide all relevant endorsements required by the relevant authorities
• Supervise all civil, structural and geotechnical building works, both permanent and temporary
• To ensure that contractor had obtained all necessary permits and clearance to work
• To conduct site inspection and ensure that contractor(s) implement corrective actions and timely preventive/mitigation measures to protect surrounding structures
• Coordinate the contractor, AC, QP(D), and relevant agencies, including interfacing contractors and consultants etc for the works
• To review, evaluate and assess all formwork structures, formwork support systems etc
• To review and supervise safety, environmental and health matters
• To supervise the installation of instrumentation
• To supervise sanitary and plumbing installations, pump drainage works etc
• To review, evaluate and assess the monitoring of instrumentation and interpretation of the results and provide analytical results/presentations
• To review the Contractor's design and supervise all works

Criteria:

- Min 3 years of experience in Cut & Cover tunnelling or supervision of installation of monitoring instruments, collation of monitoring data and use of software for the presentation of monitoring data for analysis and interpretation.

- Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering

- Possess a valid RTO cert by JAC of IES/ACES as QSS Singapore

• To review all Authority's and Contractor's drawings
• To provide all relevant endorsements required by the relevant authorities
• Supervise all civil, structural and geotechnical building works, both permanent and temporary
• To ensure that contractor had obtained all necessary permits and clearance to work
• To conduct site inspection and ensure that contractor(s) implement corrective actions and timely preventive/mitigation measures to protect surrounding structures

Criteria:

- Min 3 years of experience in tunnelling or supervision of installation of monitoring instruments, collation of monitoring data and use of software for presentation of monitoring data for analysis and interpretation.

- Possess a valid RTO cert by JAC of IES/ACES as QSS Singapore

- Possess a valid RTO (Tunnel) cert by JAC of IES/ACES as QSS Singapore

Responsibilities

• Human Resources OperationsHandle sensitive and confidential matters with high integrity, manage P-File, update employee records and maintain proper filing systems.
• Update and maintain employee’s leave matters and personnel records on People module.
• Assist in recruitment process and coordinate with hiring managers on the job description and set up for interviews. Work with recruitment agencies and/or manage recruitment posting on job portal.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding process.
• Conduct employee orientation and CSR activities.
• Prepare HR reports, leave and medical benefits administration.
• Co-ordinate training program with both internal and external stakeholders, to enhance employee skillset and learning development.

• To distribute and disseminate important circulars, mails, letters in timely manner.
• Provide secretarial support to General Manager such as screening incoming phone calls, arrange meetings/travel schedules, draft correspondence and maintain effective filing system.
• Maintain and update employee guides and administration information or process on shared drive.
• Manage business travel authorization and make travel bookings using internal booking tool, where necessary.
• Manage travel reimbursement and ensure that claims are align with travel policy.
• Manage the purchasing of stationery and office equipment.
• Manage contracts of vendors pertaining to office equipment, general insurance and administration matters.
• Provide any other general office administrative support and ensure a seamless day-to day office operation.
• Support activities for any company events.
• Manage employee’s general inquires and clarifications.
