We are seeking a Junior Web Developer contribute to the design and development of the Web UI architecture for our low latency, high performance electronic trading system.

Responsibilities

• Successful candidates will be able to independently contribute high quality web application code for UI as well as non-UI parts
• To communicate and collaborate effectively with other Developers, QA engineers, as well as Product Owners to ensure successful client rollouts

Who we are seeking:

• Degree educated in an Engineering or Computer Science related subject.
• 0-2 years of experience working across frontend technology stack, ideally in a financial trading environment.
• Solid grasp of web development technologies, practices, and protocols, such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JWT, REST APIs, WebSocket
• Good understanding of modern browsers, including Web APIs and DevTools
• Keen interest in high performance architectures and associated concepts, e.g., low latency, performance and scalability design
• Knowledge on Java would be advantageous.
• Knowledge in development lifecycle and build tools such as Git, Maven, Jira, Jenkins
• Independent, good work ethics, resourceful and problem solver, being able to gain initiative, work independently and produce high quality solution

Responsibilities:

• Provide L2 support and troubleshooting for production incidents and critical system interface through Payment System
• Responsible for production system integrity and production system readiness of systems under Payment System team for APAC region
• Support the Incident Manager in ensuring preventive and detective measures of applications are identified and implemented with provision of root cause analysis.
• Support the IT Planner in meeting project objectives and perform production transition for new system launch and system change request.
• Propose improvements for systems based on identified process gaps.
• Identify and propose suitable processes for automation and implementation.
• Lead and coordinate projects (project support and change request). Provide analytical support and execute requirement analysis to support system enhancement, fixes, and emergency application changes deployment.
• Participate in system restoration for Disaster Recovery exercises.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• 4 years of work experience in the Application or System Support function, preferably in a bank or financial institution.
• Experience in Enterprise Application support environment with interaction to multiple function (developer, infrastructure and service desk) and business users.
• Functional knowledge of Payment systems such as GIRO, FAST, CTS, MEPS+, Overseas & Domestic Remittance, Internet Banking, customer eAdvices.
• Technical knowledge on Application hosted in both Windows and LINUX, able to perform database query (SQL Server, Oracle) and handling application services under Windows and LINUX services.
• Possess hands-on experiences in supporting Payment systems.
• Possess good understanding and competency in scripting (such as DOS, Shell Scripting)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

The FIET Support team is responsible for providing Global Support to the TD Securities FI eTrading and Front office businesses located in major financial centers including Toronto, New York, London and Singapore.

Job Description

The eTrading Fixed Income Application Support Specialist interacts with all users of Front Office , Finance & Operations, Back Office, Treasury Credit, and Risk Management to develop and implement lasting and robust technology solutions as well as support the existing application and surrounding framework.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Supporting & delivering solutions to the firm's Fixed Income Trading & Sales desks in Singapore
• The Analyst will join an experienced team, responsible for managing applications that offer pricing, risk, electronic / algorithmic trading and trade capture functionalities to the Business.
• The role will initially involve 1st and 2nd line application support responsibilities, offering engagement with a broad range of stakeholders across Front & Middle Office, Product Control, Risk Management, Back Office, Application Development and Infrastructure teams.
• Training will be provided, though given the nature of the role, the successful candidate is expected to have a 'hands on' attitude and be proactive to enhance their knowledge.
• Systems and applications comprise vendor and in-house built tools, with PnL & Risk management systems.
• Periodic on-call support and shift work required

Job Requirements

• Experience supporting Trading, Pricing, and risk management applications
• Experience supporting front-to-back Trading Systems and Trading Desks
• Should be comfortable assessing trading systems/components to investigate trade breaks, connectivity, and data issues.
• Understanding of Bloomberg TOMS, ION trade capture systems.
• Understanding of financial markets and products, in particular Fixed Income, Interest rate products
• Understanding of electronic trading, markets, connectivity, market making, and algorithmic/automatic trading.
• Must have proven experience working with developers, business analysts, and systems support team.
• Working experience in with the following technologies: Linux, Windows Servers, Oracle, SQL
• Strong Fixed Income functional knowledge particularly treasuries and bond trading expertise
• Scripting, SQL and / or experience in Programming Languages
• Knowledge of IT project & development lifecycles (SDLC), agile methodology and ITIL
• Strong analytical skills
• Willingness to work from 7am to 4pm daily due to trading hours. Rotational shift within team to start work at 5am on Mondays occasionally.
