Objectives of the position:

This role is for the validation of Customer technical requirements by means of inspection of In-coming goods and release lots in SAP with defined usage decisions. Testing of ISIR samples (type test) for product approval process (power, control & data cable) with compliance to company standards and verify compliance to the international cable standards e.g. EN / IEC requirements. Understanding of each testing standards and be able to communicate the requirements to respective parties including suppliers. Establish test specification to be followed by suppliers. To be able to operate all laboratory equipment in the process of cable type testing. Keep track of product approvals and Company's approved suppliers’ performance monitoring to ensure continuous product compliance to the intended specification. Corrective and preventive action process with supplier with CAR logging and follow-up for effective closure of complaints and issues related to product quality.

Knowledge in product testing and certification will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Validate product quality conformance by conducting In-coming inspection and type testing for cable & accessories, include updating into SAP.

2. To be able to operate Laboratory test equipment for cable testing and accessories inspection

3. Understand international cable testing standards and inspection requirements with compliance to internal ISO procedures. Prepare test specification with detailed inspection requirement to be followed by the supplier.

4. Prepare and issue Customer test reports, certificates & COC

5. Track supplier quality by means of in-coming inspection or arise from Customer complaints. Update results in SAP system and release inspected lots according to the usage decision defined.

6. To generate supplier CAR and track for corrective action and effective closure of CARs by liaising with the supplier.

7. Liaising with relevant departments including suppliers to effectively close the CAR issued for Customer complaints or CAR’s which arise from internal findings (Z2 & Z8).

8. Maintain inspection records in SAP, determine skip lot and setup inspection requirements in SAP.

9. Assist Customer’s Technical enquiries e.g. Customer letter, RoHS, REACH & CE

10. Understand and comply with relevant ISO procedures, work instructions and corporate directives

11. Assist in other day to day activities related to QA department as assigned by superior.

12. Contribute to achieving company, department and personal KPIs through due diligence, duty of care & personal accountability for Quality assurance in all tasks.

Skills & Qualification:

▪ Min. Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical) or equivalent

▪ Min. 2 years’ experience in electrical / electronic product testing and qualification.

▪ Knowledge in ISO 9001:2015 QMS standard will be added advantage.

▪ To be able to operate lab equipment e.g. calliper, visual scope, resistance checker, High voltage tester etc.

The Engineering TAC (ETAC) team is an exciting crossroads between Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and Engineering. This team is uniquely empowered to drive decisions and to be the thought leaders within the Global Customer Support organization at Palo Alto Networks. On any given day, members of the team may work with cutting-edge new hardware and software projects very early in the product life cycle, develop and deliver advanced technical training, assist a support engineer with a challenging customer issue, replicate a complex issue in our lab, evaluate customer network design, or help improve features for supportability and usability that shape the future of our products. Your Impact

• Enable TAC support teams by providing deeper technical expertise and guidance for NetSec platforms (NGFW, Cloud NGFW, SASE) - This includes not only structured training throughout the year but also includes ad hoc sessions and Q&A in-person and remotely
• Work directly with Engineering on cutting-edge new product development - With your combined technical expertise in our state-of-the-art cybersecurity platform, and knowledge and skills learned from prior technical support experience, as an ETAC engineer one of your primary responsibilities is to define supportability and usability requirements for new products during the design phase as well as post GA via enhancement requests
• Develop and deliver expert level training materials for TAC support and Engineering teams - Training is a key component of the day-to-day success of support - An ETAC engineer has the highest level of expertise amongst support teams, and is responsible for staying up to date with technical details on Palo Alto Networks new products and industry in general - You will share those details with TAC via advanced technical documentation and training sessions
• Develop advanced troubleshooting focused tools and scripts to help solve complex customer issues and improve product supportability
• Work with TAC to provide expert-level technical support of customer issues that involve very complex network topologies, architectures, and security designs
• Own critical and executive level issues for LAN/WAN and NGFWs - You will work primarily with Customer Support and Engineering with the focus on assisting them with identifying and resolving customer issues - This usually means working with the TAC case owner and development engineering on a replication or verification and communicating updates
• Lead in Identifying problems and taking actions to fix them across support and product life cycles - Sometimes there are opportunities to catch a problem before it is escalated or becomes widespread - ETAC is positioned to identify or help in these unplanned projects that result in a better customer experience, and is also empowered to help implement enhancements and automations that save time and provide better security and usability

Qualifications

Your Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience
• Technical Support or Development experience supporting enterprise customers with very complex LAN/WAN environments
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, expertise with general routing/switching, Routing protocols (e.g BGP, OSPF), branch and DataCenter Architectures
• Expertise with Remote Access VPN solutions, IPSEC, PKI & SSL
• Expertise with Cloud services and Infrastructure
• Familiarity with C, Python, or at least one scripting language - You’re not applying to be a developer, but you should have some experience in automating moderately complex tasks
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks products is highly desired

Procurement Operations and Data Maintenance

• Support the procurement end to end function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations. Act as an interface between suppliers and relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.

Vendor Management

• Assess and evaluate supplier’s performance reviews, compiling data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
