Lead Maintenance Engineer (HVAC and purified water system)

In this role, you will:

• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in IPT Maintenance team with in-depth knowledge in Purified water system, HVAC, and Electrical & Instrumentation.
• You will take ownership for the HVAC and purified water system day to day support and continues improvement.
• Experience in manufacturing in a GMP HVAC environment utilizing ISO 14644-1 classifications.
• Respond to BMS/EMS alerts, investigate and feedback on any outstanding issues or events and respond to emergency situations and be on standby duty as required.
• Lead Quality Risk assessment and develop a yearly trend for purified water system and HVAC system.
• Develop and implement maintenance program, preventive maintenance procedures and spare parts strategy for safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the systems/Equipment’s.
• Shape data-driven decisions that solve business challenges and deliver on desired outcomes and people experience.
• Drive innovation, every plant area is a model area using our Production System.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & compliance

• Lead or support investigation, participate in trouble shooting and root cause analysis for various operational events, and ensure that all relevant engineering CAPA are completed within agreed timeline.
• Provide support and actively participate in the site expansion project related to the HVAC and water systems, ensuring compliance with the company’s requirements.
• Lead and manage change control on project activities or act as technical advisor for system modifications, capital projects and other identified plant improvement projects in line with defined specifications, budget, and qualification of facilities in accordance with site to approved procedures.
• Proactively review and challenge current activities to reduce safety risk for employees and quality risks for company’s products.
• Develop commissioning, qualification (IQ, OQ) activities are executed accordingly and in compliance.
• Maintain HVAC and Purified water systems are in optimum condition in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & EHS requirements.
• Lead/participate in equipment failure troubleshooting and deviation investigations whenever required.
• Provide input during Basis of Design (BOD) and Detailed Design during large capital projects, applying good maintenance and reliability engineering principles whenever required.

Enhance and uphold maintenance quality.

• Implements technical solutions to improve equipment uptime and asset utilization through use of Continuous Improvement mindset (Lean methodologies)
• Supports Maintenance Lead to meet Profit Plan targets, optimize maintenance and product standard cost effectiveness in accordance with cGMP and Safety guidelines.
• Responsible for improving the reliability of equipment and maintenance processes by applying the principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Lead and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for surfaced issues and implement a robust solution.

Operations excellence

• Plans, monitors, schedules, and implements measures on the Planned Preventive Maintenance Program and also ensures that the work is done in accordance with schedule and specification.
• Regularly review and revise maintenance program and procedures to increase equipment reliability, reduce waste and improve overall asset care process & cost efficiency.
• Work with Engineering & Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) to execute a 'reliability-centric’ maintenance plan.
• Share best practices and lessons learned with the objective of improving asset utilization.
• Undertake activities to support realization of production, maintenance and product cost effectiveness with emphasis on equipment reliability and maintenance expenses.
• Conducts Maintenance effectiveness / optimization reviews along with IPT maintenance leads/Engineers/Technicians.

Continuous Improvements (CI)

• Utilize Lean methodologies such as 5S, Standard Work, real-time problem solving (RTPS), to support execution of continuous improvement activities.
• Support the development of continuous improvement framework and work with the Maintenance team to identify opportunities.
• Compile and review data and develops action plans for critical HVAC systems and Purified water systems to improve reliability and reduce M&R cost.
• Identify water and HVAC system repair and replacement projects, plan and develop schedules, acquire materials, prepare budgets, and develop an RFC for job execution.
• Effective project management ensures that jobs are completed on time, within budget,

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
• 5 to 8 years of maintenance work experience in Chemical, Semiconductor, aviation, oil & gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Analytical and Problems solving skill with regard to Purified water system and HVAC Systems
• Knowledge in HVAC and Purified water system operation and Maintenance principle.
• Experience in manufacturing in a GMP HVAC environment utilizing ISO 14644-1 classifications.
• Knowledge of various clean room standards across the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with Life cycle of the HVAC system (from design, operations, controls monitoring, maintenance and obsolescence management).
• Knowledge and experience working within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Demonstrated use of Reliability analysis tools such as FME, RCFA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a subject matter expert in E&I equipment failures and ensures the reliability of those equipments.
• Provides technical expertise to plant personnel (Supervisors and technicians) on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and ensuring E&I equipment meets the design intent.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot critical and major plant issues related to E&I, participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify solutions, and drive continuous plant improvement initiatives while managing costs effectively.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller / SIS), with a strong emphasis on experience with Allan Bradley PLCs.
• Provide expertise in maintaining electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, MV/LV switchboards, Fire alarm and CCTV systems.
• Mentor technicians in executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures and standards.
• Supports Team Lead in developing the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITY
· Plan and allocate tools, material and manpower for fabrication;
· Ensure that all the technical reviews by engineering team comply with project requirements;
· Coordinate all technical queries with related parties – engineering team, client, vendor etc;
· Assist Project Manager in streamlining work processes;
· Coordinator with team to review all subcontract and supplier shop drawing, product data, samples,
manuals etc for all compliance with contract documents;
· Manage vendor documents for all equipment;
· Monitor and ensure all the vendor equipment delivery are on time, including checks on inspection status and requirement;
· Prepare tender submission, cost estimation and project change request;

REQUIREMENTS

Authorities and Responsibilities

1. Ensure all fabrication work is done with acceptable quality by daily monitoring include inspecting according to specification, procedure and applicable standards.
2. Understand all technical specification and standard compliance and ability to handle troubleshooting project correction.
3. Prepare welding methods, PQR assembly and other CWI duties.
4. Co-ordinate, communicate with member even carrying out inspection of all the welding and associated actions in accordance with the approved Welding Procedure Specification, drawings and Company Specification and requirements.
5. Co-ordinate and liaise with Production personnel to ensure that all inspection stages comply to inspection and test plans on material or structure.
6. Witness and verify all tests include reinstatement etc. and prepare reports after such tests are conducted.
7. Verify product identification through material verification inspection and periodical random checks on site.
8. Responsible in executing directives as set forth for the Quality Assurance Department in meeting management objectives in term of quality control/assurance of all production fabrication works/projects.
9. Implement and maintain a system of auditing the facility and periodic calibration of test, measuring equipment and tools include all documentation, procedure qualification records accordance to customer specification and code.
10. Manage and supervise a team of inspectors / technicians in meeting departmental quality goals and production schedule.
11. Manage customer complaints, corrective and preventive action programs and Administer and manage continuous improvement program for all QA processes.
12. Work closely with customers, production and suppliers to meet the quality requirements.
13. Review / prepare, administer and implement Quality Assurance Plans, Inspection Test Plans and other Operational procedures in accordance to the technical specifications, customer's surveillance requirements, and good manufacturing / engineering practices, and enforce the same on Operations in their execution.
14. Work closely among inter-department to ensure committed schedules are met in a timely and effectively manner.
15. Manage the implementation / schedule of calibration control.
16. Participate in the implementation of risk assessment and risk control of medical devices.

Competence Requirement

• Min. ITE-NTEC/Diploma/Degree level PE/ME or its related discipline.
• Fresh Degree or min 3 years in Quality Assurance in production/fabrication/welding environment or it relevant experience in QC/QA environment.
• Perform CMM programming, smart-scope and QC measuring tools/equipment.
• Certified with welding certification by American Welding Society, Certification Welding Inspector, AWS-CWI. - Optional
• Minimum 3 years of related experiences in welding capacity in structural fabrication.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and reading symbols.
• Understand the quality principles, standards, internal business systems and processes.
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and Works well with all levels of staff and technically competent.
• Good knowledge of International Codes and Standards (ASME, AWS, ASTM, API).
• Basic Knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office
• Sound Technical knowledge on steel structural and steel fabrication procedures and welding inspection.
