JOb Responsibilities:

• Cluster Setup and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elastic Search, Graph databases etc. Set up and manage distributed file systems (HDFS) and NoSQL databases (HBase, Graph databases).
• Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, fine-tune jobs, and optimize cluster utilization. Manage and resolve performance bottlenecks in big data environments.
• Security Management: Implement data security policies, user authentication (Kerberos), and access control (Ranger, Knox). Regularly review and patch systems to ensure data integrity.
• Backup and Recovery: Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies for big data environments. Develop disaster recovery solutions and test failover scenarios.
• Workflow Automation: Design and implement workflows using tools like Apache Oozie or Apache Airflow. Automate cluster management tasks like upgrades and scaling.
• Monitoring and Support: Monitor logs, metrics, and system health using tools like Ambari, Cloudera Manager, or Prometheus. Provide on-call support for production systems and resolve incidents.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers and developers to support ETL pipelines and data processing jobs. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure big data systems meet organizational needs.

Job Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Elastic search, HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka).
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Grafana, or Splunk.
• Scripting skills in Python, Shell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their big data services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in Hadoop, Cloudera, or related big data technologies are a plus.
• 7-8 years of experience in big data administration or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience in scaling and managing large clusters in production environments.

* To diagnose and resolve software and hardware-related incidents, including operating systems (Windows and MacOS) and across a range of standard software applications.
* To assist all our users with any logged IT-related incident.
* To take ownership of End User Computing issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible.
* To act as escalation level 2 support to the team and junior engineers.
* To escalate incidents to other support teams where necessary.

Job Requirement

* Minimum ITE/Diploma or equivalent education.
