Main duties and responsibilities:

· Safe navigation of the Ship and the safety of the Owners, their guests and the crew at all times.

· Operation and navigation of the Ship in a proper and seamanlike manner with due respect and consideration to all who have business with the Ship.

· Care and maintenance of all the Ship’s equipment and machinery including the integrity and condition of the hull and all safety systems.

· Thorough preparation of the Ship for all voyages in a safe and proper manner with due consideration to the Owners’ programme as far as is practically possible.

· Appropriate documentation and maintenance of a complete defects and warranty list for the Ship and its equipments and fittings.

· Maintenance of a formal Ship’s accounting procedure in compliance with the Owners’ format and requirements. It is expected that prudence and economy will be exercised in all financial matters relating to the Ship.

· Maintenance of proper Ship’s and engine room logs with due regard to work lists and maintenance plans.

· Conduct himself at all times with due regard to his position as a representative of both the Ship and its Owners. To promote and protect the Owners interests at all times.

· Nurture and maintain an efficient and harmonious atmosphere aboard the Ship.

· Comply with the Owners’ request to perform other duties, which are related to the position of Captain as and when requested.

· Enforce a strictly no smoking and no consumption of alcoholic drinks policy for the interior of the Ship and crew quarters.

· All crew guests are at the Captain’s discretion but are to be restricted to crew areas with the Owner’s area being kept private.
