The incumbent will be reponsible for development of global business opportunities through government relations, corporate relations and partner relations in which GHQ will invest capital, as a regional liaison. He/she will also need to collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve successful results to support the achievement of MHI medium term business plan and he/she is also responsible for supporting all Business Units in MHI-AP in collaborating with each Business Domain and SBUs in Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.(MHI) Group to expand business growth areas in the Asia Pacific region; provide leadership in the business development activities for the energy transition solutions (such as power plant, CO2 capture, CO2 utilization technologies, biomass, engines, fuel cells and Liquefied CO2 & Ammonia vessels), New Mobility & Logistics business leveraging on digitalization & AI.
Job responsibilities
Global solution business development
· Participate in global solution business projects in which GHQ will invest capital, as a regional liaison
· Build relationships with local decision makers and influencers such as government executives and leading local companies
· Share information with stakeholders at GHQ and in Asia Pacific countries, and align their opinions to reach a consensus for global business development
· Monitor progress of business development and ensure that activities comply with the company’s codes, standards and rules
· To establish the initial project scheme and structure considering the project cash flow
BU Business Support
· Oversee and support all Business Units in MHI-AP, collaborating with Strategic Business Units (SBUs) in MHI Headquarters
Project Risk Management
· Review the preparation of tender proposals, commercial proposals and contracts to ensure project feasibility
· Minimize project risk in terms of costing, delivery schedules, contract terms and conditions and other legal requirements
Requirements
· Degree in Business or equivalent
· Minimum 10 years working in Sales and/or Business Development department of power plant and/or engineering industries.
· Excellent Japanese Language skills (JLPT N1 or equivalent level) in both business writings & speaking to coordinate & communicate precise information with Japanese stakeholders in the APAC region / counterparts in Japan HQ.
· Excellent business acumen with proven business development track records & strategic vision
· Project management experience and knowledge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) works
· Finance and Legal knowledge for project finance
· Excellent skills in navigating network & managing stakeholders
· Good knowledge of energy supply chain including energy sources, transportation, receiving facilities and various type of plants, especially, power generating plant.
· Good knowledge of energy management systems (For example, the optimization solutions with the combination of hardware & software technologies)
· Familiar and good network with government bodies in Japan and professionals for strategic interface on business development matters.
· Ability to perform in VUCA environment
