The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Department of Medicine is seeking candidates who are highly motivated and willing to join us for a challenging and fulfilling appointment as Resident Physicians.

We are a tertiary referral centre for complex clinical cases and we provide a comprehensive array of diagnostic and therapeutic treatment for digestive and liver diseases. Our strengths lie in several key services, notably in viral hepatitis, liver cancer, functional bowel diseases and therapeutic endoscopy. As a dedicated facility to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, we are equipped with the technology and know-how to provide accurate diagnosis as well as management plans for both common and complicated gastrointestinal, liver and biliary conditions.

As a Resident Physician, you will be responsible for the management of patients in the wards and clinics, and administrative duties required of the department to provide direct patient care. Other duties include specialist outpatient clinic, inpatient coverage (rostered) and to provide continuity of care for patients.

Key Summary

As a Physician, you will be part of the multidisciplinary clinical team providing comprehensive geriatric assessment, diagnosis and appropriate quality treatment to our clients. You will facilitate their care at their homes as well as the clinic.

Key Requirements

• MBBS with professional diplomas in geriatric medicine, family medicine or palliative care
• Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council
• At least 5 years post-graduate working experience in Internal Medicine or Geriatric Medicine
• Possess operational management skills or a willingness to learn will be an added bonus. Eg. set up clinical system and procedures, establish plan and budget for clinical equipment and develop nursing staff to enable the smooth running and maintenance of the clinic
• Experience in community aged-care services / VWO is ideal

The Resident Physician will work within the Division of Advanced Internal Medicine as part of the Department of Medicine. The Division of Advanced Internal Medicine is comprised of 12 faculty trained in both General Internal Medicine and Medicine Sub-Specialties who deliver care to inpatients and outpatients. You will be responsible for the overall supervision and day-to-day running of the Alexandra Campus in-patient clinical service. This is a new campus for the NUHS cluster comprised currently of 3 groups of patients, acute medical patients, acute/sub-acute care wards, with a focus in multi-disciplinary team approach to chronically ill patients who have complex social needs, and those with cancer and palliative care needs.You may also be responsible for the supervision and teaching of House Officers, Medical officers and other Trainees.You will have significant autonomy in your role while also working closely with supportive supervising consultants. You will report to the AIM Head of Department.

Our Practice is a focused in primary and preventive healthcare with a strong presence in health screening. We are establishing a physical walk in clinic presence and are looking for doctors who wish to pursue a career in private practice in family medicine.

As a Family Physician, he/she will be responsible for the daily operations of the general practice clinic.

Scope of work includes but not limited to:

· Acute and chronic care consultations.

· Medical Check-ups, statutory examination

· Minor Procedures

· Vaccinations

· Blood taking and Pap Smear

· Any other work as assigned

He/she should be comfortable with tele-consultation, health screening, occasional onsite support and work as assigned.
