JOB DESCRIPTION

• Advising management on and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations including MAS guidelines relating to AML/CFT, outsourcing and technology risk management; MAS Business Trust Act and SGX Listing Rules.
• Managing periodic filings/notification to MAS or other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Managing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework; and working closely with business heads in ensuring that the risk management processes are adhered to at the operational level.
• Managing the implementation of risk and compliance programs.
• Point of contact for regulators on risk and compliance matters.
• Liaising with and managing auditors on risk and compliance related matters.
• Supporting management in reporting to the boards and/or board committees on risk and compliance related matters.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Finance/Banking/Accountancy
• 6 to 8 years compliance/risk management/audit experience within REIT/business trust/fund management industry
• Good knowledge/understanding of laws and regulations including Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, MAS Business Trust Act and SGX Listing Rules
• Good knowledge/understanding of Enterprise Risk Management principles and processes of REIT/business trust/fund management businesses
• A self-motivated team player who is meticulous, detailed oriented, organized and able to learn quickly, independently with strong analytical skills
• Able to think objectively, work independently and multi-task in a fast pace environment

Requirement

Asian School of the Environment (ASE) is hiring a research assistant to assist in field and laboratory data collection in a new, Nparks-funded project entitled: “Comparison of litterfall nutrient cycling between forests and urban green spaces in Singapore”.

The research assistant will work closely with three other team members to collect a wide variety of data for this project. This data includes data from plants (trees in forests and parks), invertebrates (small, soil- and litter-dwelling species), and microbes (soil and litter bacteria and fungi).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field work to natural forests and urban parks to collect leaf litter, soil and invertebrate samples
• Conduct lab work to process and analyze nutrient contents in leaf litter and soil samples
• Conduct lab work to sort and sequence invertebrate samples
• Assist in procuring project logistics and other project administrative duties
• Train students and ensure the safe conduct of student research projects

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in biology, zoology, ecology, environmental science, or equivalent
• Able to do regular (up to thrice weekly) fieldwork
• Good team player
• Good attitude towards learning the many skills and techniques necessary to execute this project
• Prior experience with chemical analyses (CHNS, ICP-OES), entomological work and GIS is advantageous, but not a requirement for application
• Keen interest in nature/entomology/botany
