PBSG is seeking a Manager/Assistant Manager, Development & Communications to lead strategic communication efforts, elevate our brand, and engage stakeholders effectively. Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy Development and Execution:
• Develop and implement comprehensive communications and plans that align with PBSG’s mission, vision, and objectives; regularly review; update these strategies based on risk assessments and lessons learned.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices to adapt and enhance communication strategies, including pro-active cultivation and management of media relations to amplify PBSG’s brand through story-telling and public awareness.
• Develop a crisis communication plan that outlines roles, responsibilities and communication protocol with a designated spokesperson from the Media Focus Group to communicate with the media and the public to manage potential reputational risk(s) from negative media coverage, public perception or social media backlash.
2. Digital and Social Media Management
• Oversee and manage PBSG’s digital presence across various platforms including website(s), YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and digital crowdfunding platforms.
• Develop engaging content and campaigns to raise awareness of our programmes and fundraising initiatives.
• Monitor and manage potential risks associated with social media channels where messages have the potential to go viral.
3. Content Creation and Management
• Supervise the creation, writing and editing of communication materials, including Annual Reports, digital fundraising campaigns, website and social media posts, videos, podcasts, presentation materials, letters, speeches, human interest stories, infographics and post-event pages.
• Ensure all content is clear and accurate, consistent with PBSG’s branding and messaging guidelines to avoid any miscommunication.
4. Team Collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including fundraising, programme/volunteer management, etc to ensure co-ordinated efforts and consistent branding and messaging.
5. Communications Development and Policy Implementation
• Monitor trends to stay updated and leverage emerging communication technologies and platforms such as SEO and SMO to optimise online traffic through site structure and content.
• Develop and implement communication policies, processes, and protocols to maintain PBSG’s positive image and reputation.
6. Performance Measurement and Reporting
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for communication efforts and regularly track and report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns.
• Analyze data and insights to make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
• Supervise Executive staff, subject to experience of candidate and on a need-to basis.
Requirements:
- Degree/Qualifications in MarComms, Journalism/Public Relations, Sociology or related field.
- Ideally 5 years of working experience in a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to communicate in another local language is a plus.
- Strong storytelling abilities and creativity.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and website management (e.g., WordPress).
- Ability to design graphics using various tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other design software is a plus.
- Video editing skills are a plus.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team for peer influence.
- Resilient and pro-active with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
