The Executive in this role operates within a community and family-focused environment, regularly engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to advocate for and effectively communicate our brand. This individual will also support the manager in fundraising efforts by leveraging various communication tools and strategies.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem-solver who is self-motivated and capable of setting clear, meaningful goals. They exhibit high levels of resilience when faced with challenges and are service oriented, keen on meeting the needs of internal clients. The Executive is also expected to propose continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our ability to communicate our vision and mission.
Key responsibility areas
1. Marketing Communications and Public Relations
In support of the Manager, the Executive will:
- Assist in executing MSCS’s communications and marketing strategies, ensuring all efforts adhere to brand and corporate identity guidelines.
- Manage and support corporate and programme-led events, as well as departmental marketing campaigns.
- Develop and manage key MSCS collaterals and digital communication platforms, including the website and social media channels, to drive meaningful content production and social media engagement (e.g., campaigns using Google AdWords, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Oversee internal communication platforms such as newsletters and emails.
- Develop PR materials, including press releases, media pitches, and public education content, while maintaining strong media relations.
- Stay updated on best practices in the media and publishing industry to refresh and optimise media and publication processes as needed.
- Serve as a Brand Custodian, maintaining a favourable public image of MSCS by effectively communicating our programmes, achievements, and perspectives.
2. Development
In support of the Manager, the Executive will:
- Identify and cultivate potential new partnerships to advance the organisation’s mission and achieve individual fundraising targets, contributing to the overall fundraising goals of Morning Star.
- Build and maintain close working relationships with corporate stakeholders, sponsors, donors, and volunteers.
- Implement fundraising initiatives across all marketing channels.
- Coordinate the development of fundraising materials and collaterals.
- Manage all fundraising-related mailings, including direct mail and donor updates, to reinforce the organisation’s mission.
- Maintain and update donor records in the central database.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree, preferably in Mass Communications or Marketing Communications.
- Highly organised, process-focused aptitude, with strong management to follow-up on assigned tasks within the stipulated timelines for successful completion.
- Self-motivated and positive, able to work independently.
- Good presentation and writing skills.
- Resourceful and self-driven with high degree of professional integrity & initiative.
- Independent as well as a good team player.
