OVERVIEW
As the Communications Coordinator, you will contribute to the planning and execution of the team’s initiatives across CNBC International’s Asia Pacific (APAC) region in coordination with the Director of Communications, International and Communications Associate, EMEA.
Your role will be essential in ensuring consistent, positive brand messaging across all channels, while actively identifying opportunities for public relations initiatives. Working with the wider Communications team, you will assist in creating compelling content, supporting campaigns, and building strong and constructive working relationships as this position collaborates with many internal stakeholders across the international organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
- Work closely with the Director of Communications, International to build public relations plans to support the promotion of CNBC’s business day news, long-form content, special events, and editorial and business priorities
- Develop external communication materials such as press releases, social media content, and pitches
- Drive opportunities in the region to promote the profiles of key talent and senior executives through internal and external opportunities
- Create, manage and update media lists and work closely with the newsroom team to identify and disseminate breaking news and big interviews
- Monitor, analyse and report on trending news stories and social media conversations, press coverage and competitor landscape
- Manage photo and video shoots for regional business day programs, talent, and events
- Proactively oversee entries for industry awards in the region, working with internal teams to gather data, draft copy, and submit entries
- Track and analyse communication performance metrics to evaluate the impact of messaging and campaigns
- Ensure CNBC International’s show descriptions, anchor biographies and photographer bank are updated on a regular basis
- Work closely with CNBC’s graphics departments to ensure show branding is up to date across CNBC’s platforms
- Oversee the management of CNBC’s PR content on owned social media platforms such as LinkedIn and X
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
- Work with the Director of Communications, International to deliver a proactive internal communications calendar which engages internal audiences
- Lead in the development of CNBC International’s weekly internal newsletter, internal announcements, and employee engagement campaigns to keep employees informed, while maintaining a consistent tone and message across internal platforms
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and deliver all-staff events in the region
- Communicate with key stakeholders in CNBC’s bureau network to ensure communications are aligned.
- Provide administrative support to the Communications team
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Impeccable attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Basic knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a communications or marketing role
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Sailthru or similar
- Experience with social media platforms, including an understanding of analytics
- Willingness to learn about the media and news industry
