• Lead the development of fit-for-purpose ERM framework and policies
• Develop and maintain organisation wide risk appetite including monitoring of adherence to the risk appetite through associated Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
• Lead and/or support all phases of the design and delivery of the overall ERM plan, including but not limited to risk identification, monitoring, and controlling activities that include threat scanning and KRIs reviews.
• Supervise and undertake ERM projects that meet organisational imperatives, departmental and other appropriate standards.
• Lead risk assessments of assigned department or functional areas including the review of risk registers and the development of key risk management tools and templates
• Influence and facilitate changes to improve the controls environment to mitigate risks to an acceptable level.
• Key business partner to maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders to help ensure the ERM plan carried out adequately addresses the key risks in the Organization.
• Advice, train, execute communication and outreach initiatives to nurture a culture focused on identifying and managing risks impacting the Organization’s ability to achieve its strategic and operational objectives
• Go-to person as the COE for risk management matters including advisory and solutioning
• Prepare and assist with the appropriate Management and Audit & Risk Committee reporting.

Job Requirements

• Strong risk management background, preferably with 10 years of relevant working experience
• Possess professional qualifications such as CRMA, CISA, CIA or COSO ERM certified
• Able to work independently, as well as maintain seamless interactions with the various teams and business units across the organization
• Strong ethics and professional integrity with ability to demonstrate discretion, respect confidentiality and sensitivity of information
• Strong team leader with ability to coach, inspire, motivate a team to deliver.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to focus on the details and see the ‘big picture’
• Sound project management capabilities to organize, priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to understand complex issues taking in the cross-organizational / cultural context

About the Role

The Business Times Visual team is looking for an experienced Digital Graphics Designer to join our newsroom. You will work with journalists, developers, designers, and editors to create original digital content for our readers, enhancing our brand of storytelling.

Many business stories are accompanied by data. You will need to think about how to present data in a way that is accessible, clear and enhances the value and utility of the news content. There will also be opportunities to work on features and enterprise stories that require you to suggest visual assets that elevate the journalism.

The ideal candidate must possess the craft of designing digital experiences and should have an appreciation of business news.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with journalists and developers to understand requirements and translate them into visual designs that accurately represent the underlying data, editorial angle, or product request.
• Assist in designing, illustrating, and prototyping data visualisation, visual stories, and social media assets using various tools and technologies.
• Use various statistics and data science tools for data parsing, scraping and wrangling
• Collaborate with the UX team to ensure that interactive graphics are user-friendly, responsive, and accessible across various devices.
• Help document the design process, including any issues or challenges encountered during the design stages.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve and innovate our interactive content.
• Conduct research alongside writers to seek relevant information, including conducting interviews and finding/verifying data sources.
• Manage workflow and process for data-driven stories in the newsroom
• Thoroughly test and troubleshoot interactive graphics to ensure functionality and performance standards are met.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve and innovate our interactive content.

Job Requirements

• Demonstrated track record in delivering appealing and useful data visualisation or digital storytelling projects.
• Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects), HTML, CSS and JavaScript (d3.js, WebGL and Svelte are a plus).
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modelling and rendering software and familiarity with 2D illustration.
• Proficiency with data visualisation and interactive web design platforms like Flourish or Datawrapper.
• Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), spatial analysis tools, and data visualisation platforms are a plus.
• Excellent creative and artistic abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with the news industry and an interest in current events.

The SPH Chinese Media Group is seeking a highly motivated Digital Content Producer to work on a short-term bilingual project for 4 months.

You are expected to:

● Conceptualise and create social media content for bilingual audience, including bite-sized texts, visual elements, as well as short-form social videos

● Process content in English and creating content in both Chinese and English

● Edit social cards and short-form videos

● Stay updated on the latest social media trends and good understanding of content that will appeal to local audiences

● Help out in other areas to ensure successful completion of projects such as, but not limited to monitoring of stats, compilation of reports etc as assigned

Requirements

● Diploma/Degree in any discipline; at least 1 year of relevant working experience required (please attach your portfolio if available)

● Proficient in written/spoken English and Chinese

● Possesses a strong sense of humour and creativity, and has keen interest in trending news and current affairs

● Adept at using various social media platforms and kept abreast of best practices for performance optimization

● Organised and able to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines

● Basic knowledge in video editing and graphic design. (eg: CapCut, Canva)

● Experience in speaking or hosting in front of the camera would be a plus
