Job Description

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop next generation quantum computers based on trapped ions. There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor based on Yb-Ba ions. This program brings together the unique capabilities of the existing ion trap groups in CQT expertizing on these two-ion species to explore scalability of the system.

The Centre for Quantum Technologies is a pioneering quantum centre in the world offering a diverse research culture at the intersection of three different fields namely, theoretical, experimental Physics and computer science. The team members will work to build hardware for the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the development cycle: collaborate with team members to define technical requirements, design, test and integrate the optical systems in the final product.

Job Requirements

We are looking for several optical engineers to join the small team of scientists and engineers working on the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor. The candidate should have:

• Ph.D. in optical engineering, physics or related areas;
• At least 1-2 years of experience in optical design, implementation and testing of the optical or laser systems is preferred.

Job requirements

1. Degree in Business Administration or equivalent, or Degree in scientific discipline related to GIS core businesses, e.g. Bioinformatic, or biomedical engineering, or biology, or chemistry, or equivalent.

3. 5 years of industry experience in R&D, Business Development in medical devices and life sciences preferred or related industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

· Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or in a similar network security role.

· In-depth knowledge of network security concepts, technologies, and protocols.

· Experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, antivirus, and SIEM.

· Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).

· Understanding of network and routing protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).

· Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) is a plus.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex security issues.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.

· Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and respond to security incidents promptly.

· Relevant certifications such as CCNP (Enterprise), HCIA, NSE4, FCP, PCNSA, CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent is advantageous.
