Your Job

This role provides IT support over the phone and in person to non-technical end-users and performs basic device support independently. It involves installing, assessing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading computers and equipment of various types. The engineer will fulfill customer requests, resolve technical problems, and respond to customer questions in a timely and professional manner. Building relationships with employees and providing exceptional customer service are key aspects of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT issues, serving as an escalation point for junior IT staff.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Manage and monitor security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems, to protect the organization's IT assets.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions that align with business objectives.
• Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new solutions to improve IT services.
• Provide IT user support using standard screens, scripts, reference guides, and procedures while completing ongoing training to deepen skillset.
• Interview users to collect information about problems and lead them through diagnostic procedures to determine the source of errors. Troubleshoot and resolve technical support questions professionally.
• Image PCs, install software, and peripheral equipment.
• Provide first-level network administration support, including creating user accounts, assisting in file restores, maintaining passwords, increasing user space, and providing rights to some areas.
• Update assigned tickets with the latest status and continuously communicate with necessary parties, including providing follow-up to the user on the status of the problem until resolution.
• Escalate incidents and service requests to next level support if the issue cannot be resolved.
• Work on incident response and resolution targets in an Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) environment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications:

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

• Required: 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and support.
• Preferred: 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and support, with a focus on enterprise environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies.

• Work Environment:
• The Senior IT Engineer will work in an office environment but may be required to travel to other company locations as needed.
