Job Description:
- Work with stakeholders in planning the scope of work according to the project specifications:
- Prepare relevant documents (e.g., method statements, standards, etc)
- Manpower capacity, competency and deployment
- Work productivity through effective management (e.g., daily production outputs, machine utilisation rate, time management, etc)
- Assist to implement safe work control measures (e.g., mass tool-box meeting, conduct project general inspections, conduct risk assessment, follow safe work procedures, safety orientation & briefing, etc.)
- Ensure compliance of SAC at sites
- Ensures that inspection activities are carried out according to standard methods
- Manage and co-ordinate sub-contracting of soil/rock laboratory tests
- Coach and guide staff on the job training
- Provide technical feedback and costing information to superiors and sales team for tendering and quotation process, which include:
- Collate information of the capacity and capability to undertake the project according to technical specifications and requirements (e.g., site visit, study specifications, drawings and other requirements, etc)
- Assist to gather additional costing items where require for the tender or quotation
- Lead the project activities within the allocated budget and timeframe:
- Project task breakdown and schedules
- Resources and deployment
- Monitoring and tracking progress including sub-contracting soil/rock laboratory tests
- Plan, co-ordinate Soil Investigation and Geotech testing operations
- Liaise with clients to schedule daily site testing activities
- Analyse soil investigation in-situ test and geotechnical laboratory test results
- Performing geotechnical engineering assessment and tests for slopes, soil, foundation
- Prepare and submit project related documents
- Site visits and meetings
- Resolutions of complaint, issues and feedback.
- Update project progress/final claims for approval and invoicing
- Work with consultants/clients in preparing the SI reports
- Prepare and submit the final SI reports on time
- Reinstatement work areas & project sign-off
Job Requirements:
- Formal education in Civil Engineering / Ground investigation and instruments installation
- Good knowledge of drilling operation
- Good understanding of fundamental geotechnical engineering concepts and terms
- Familiar with 5S and safety knowledge
- Knowledge in quotation and tender works
- Proficient in CAD, Office Applications / Borelog software
- BCSS Certificate & Site Investigation for Engineers
- Optional RES, Geotechnical Instrumentation for engineers
