Fabrica AI is reinventing how robots are developed. Currently novel robots take 5-20 years. We are building a design automation platform to bring it down to a month, and have already demonstrated significant progress by developing tile grouting robots in record time. Robotics simulation and reinforcement learning has been advancing a lot making it 1000x cheaper to train robots compared to 5 years ago, and as Jensen Huang said at Nvidia GTC 2024, "the ChatGPT moment for robotics may be just around the corner." A couple other companies are building on the same paradigm shift but we are the only ones using it to automate hardware design, not just software.

Building robots and a design automation platform together brings great synergy - the platform helps us develop robots faster than anyone else and the robots allow us to gather data and do experiments at scale. Data gathering can be done through partnerships with other robotics companies, but doing experiments is crucial for grounding the platform in reality and ensuring its usefulness. The grouting robots are already deploying daily at construction sites and bringing value to clients. We are currently negotiating sales worth around 500k USD. With manufacturing cost multiple times lower than companies using a traditional robotic arm, our robots have an ROI in weeks. Our robot is also small and simple to use, operating from a single button without the need to upload floorplans or do any complex setup. Soon we would be expanding into other simple and valuable robots for the construction industry.

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer specializing in Large Language Model to contribute to the development of a scalable and optimized South-East Asia foundation language model. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-region teams, adopting the advanced AI technologies and applying AI models and strategies to enhance business models. Your primary focus will be on following and crafting the advanced AI algorithms for South-East Asia language in the ecommerce domain.

Job Description:

• Contribute to the research and implementation of pre-training and alignment algorithms include ultra-large-scale multilingual pre-training technology, Mixture-of-Experts model training, Instruction Pretraining, SFT, and RLHF.
• Contribute to the explanation and safety improvement of AI, especially in trustworthy Large language models.
• Follow the frontier technologies and make comparisons about the advanced technologies to apply in business scenarios.
• Conduct experiments to test the performance of different AI models, identifying areas for improvement and exploring new directions for enhancement.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment, applying expertise in statistics, scripting, and relevant programming languages.

Requirements:

• Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or other related disciplines
• Excellent coding skills, data structure and basic algorithm skills, proficiency in Python/Pytorch coding.
• Minimum 1 year of research experience in basic principles and training methods of industry-leading LLM (such as GPT, LLaMA).
• Have research experience in text generation or dialogue systems
• Excellent problem analysis and solving skills, able to deeply solve problems in large model training and application.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Sales Region: 50% Singapore and 50% Asean (Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines)

• New customers creation. To identifying potential customers with planning and organizing sales call schedule by cold calls or given sales leads. Candidate is also required to maintain and servicing of existing customers. Address sales and engineering support goals, contributing to weekly, monthly and annual sales report, analysing expenses, identifying inconsistencies and troubleshooting issues.
• Prepare and making of product presentation, provide product application support, demonstrate or performing of Installation on the appropriate sales engineering equipment according to orders, specificities and preferences.
• Communicate with Principals (Suppliers) and Singapore Sales team together to drive for achieving sales goal. Selected candidate will be receiving product training, which may include product information, product application, maintenance, service support or deal with system breakdowns that occurred.
• Achieve related duties and responsibilities as necessary to support, organize and monitor the success of the sales engineering department and productivity. Serve customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
• Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand their different need of product or service requirements. Prepare cost estimates by studying all related customer documents, consulting with engineers and other professional personnel.
• Determines improvements by analysing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment and engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services. Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements. Develops customer’s staff by providing technical information and training.

• Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop a mobile app for visualising geospatial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
• Undertake these responsibilities in the project:
  1. Implement code for improved cartographic algorithms and thematic map designs.
  2. Design human-subject experiments that test how the implemented map designs are used on electronic devices.
  3. Obtain approval for conducting experiments from the Institutional Review Board.
  4. Perform statistical analysis and report the results in the format of journal articles and conference contributions.
• Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
• Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
• Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Job Requirements

• Have relevant competence in the areas of mobile app development.
• Have programming experience in Python and JavaScript.
• Have a Ph.D. degree in computer science, statistics, geography or a closely related field from a regionally or internationally accredited institutions.
• Knowledge of experimental design and computational geometry will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of C++ and R is desirable.
