Purpose: Provide the fabrication steps & process time to calculate the cost of the part. This includes assessing whether the design provided is machinable, the availability of machines or tools to support the requirements and proposing cost-efficient methods.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Provide machining process steps for quote submission to determine process cost calculation.
• Review the part drawings & specifications provided and consider the critical dimensions or process.
• Identify machining issues and provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) slides to highlight issues; present an alternative proposal when possible.
• Generate a drawing/list of the requirements before sending the Request for Quote (RFQ) to suppliers.
• Inform suppliers of requirements & stipulate a cost breakdown list. Ensure that suppliers meet the specified timeline.
• Provide Part Cost estimation for Outsource Build to Print (BTP) parts for the Commodity team to use as a price reference.
• Mentor new hires on operations and part calculation processes to ensure they receive the information and guidance needed to perform their jobs effectively.
• Support and participate in company continuous improvement program.

Qualifications & Experiences:

• Nitec/Dilpoma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in the Semiconductor or High precision equipment industry, with relevance to costing will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Solidworks or other computer-aid design software.
• Application of measuring equipment and techniques
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

Purpose: Responsible for supervising staff, ensuring health and safety regulations at work are followed, making sure adequate training has been provided to the workers in the usage of equipment, and identifying deficiencies to be improved in production.

• Supervising the man and assembly process, ensuring quality work is done safely and efficiently.
• Organize and motivate the mini-companies to perform daily production activities.
• Draw up training, and job rotation plans to develop manpower to be more flexible and competent and stimulate continuous productivity improvement.
• Liaising with other Engineers to develop plans that improve productivity, in terms of costs and manpower required.
• Support engineering/manufacturing teams, draw up safety protocols, report issues to the manager, and develop strategies to improve efficiency and profit.
• Take part in quality meetings with QA and process, conduct production CAB meetings, and ensure corrective actions are carried out.
• Conduct daily supervisor and production meetings to achieve delivery reliability.
• Record and report on the department’s activities and production results regularly in each productivity review meeting.
• Manage consumables and non-capitalized equipment spending.
• Maintain and ensure 5S housekeeping on the shop floor.

Qualification & Experiences:

• Diploma/bachelor’s in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Precision or Industrial Engineering).
• At least 3 years of experience as an engineer in the manufacturing assembly environment.
• Good communication skills to perform mentoring and coaching to production staff.

Job Description

• Develops and manages new designs in accordance with project requirements and objectives, while adhering to project milestones and schedule.
• Conduct feasibility studies, FMEA, cost analysis and material selection to support design decisions.
• Collaborate closely manufacturers, and suppliers to address technical challenges through DFM & DFA and ensure successful implementation of designs.
• Prepare and present design proposals, progress reports, and project updates to stakeholders, while abiding to timely delivery within project’s budget.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Material Engineering is required.
• Min 3 years’ design experience in a product development environment, contributing to a product’s successful delivery into series production will be preferred.

• Regularly monitor the process, DCS and other systems relating to process.

Main Duties & Responsibilities :

1. Performing routine operations

a) Attend toolbox meeting and ensure all the information regarding the status of each operations under his control are properly communicated and documented in patrol log and/or handover log sheets

b) Supporting shift operation activities when in demand (such as shift manpower shortage or extra manning requirement during special operational period).

c) Strictly follow documented procedures (e.g. Standard operating procedure- SOP, EHS regulations, Check sheet, risk assessment) to ensure safe and stable operation in the plant

d) Record all the information in the documented records (eg: Log-sheet or checksheets) as required and be involved in the process trouble-shooting / investigations / abnormality reports

e) Checksheets and workflow sheet must be completely filled up at each step and final completion confirmed by supervisor

f) Provide input and/or prepare draft of revised manufacturing SOP or checksheets

g) Promptly report any near miss / deviations / incidents to his Supervisor, directly or through Risk reporting & improvement proposal system.

h) Keep good housekeeping conditions at all times, return all tools / items to designated place and enforce similar standards to contractors. Ensure tools / items fully accounted during handover / takeover according to quantity and condition specified.

i) Assist his supervisor to collect data and samples to facilitate trouble shooting or improvement effort.

j) Support implementation of new/revised procedure and check compliance to the procedures. Inform his direct supervisor if any abnormality is detected

k) Monitor stores and tools managed by day team to ensure sufficient stores and tools, and in good working condition

l) Provide administrative support to production department members, in purchasing consumable items. Assist operation team in sourcing new operational tools and maintain the inventory of item.

m) Senior day technicians, are required to participate in ASDM activities, including procedure preparation, blind allocation, critical task coordination.

n) Working team in managing Car seal program to ensure processes valves are locked at defined position for safety credit. In parallel, control and manage NO/NC program and reporting status to his superior.

2. Quality control

a) Has responsibility to ensure quality of products under his control, including prevention of foreign material contamination

3. Performing non-regular work

a) When an abnormal condition is detected (outside of normal operating condition), stop operation and inform supervisor immediately

b) Support actual NRW, in parallel to shift operation. Join toolbox meeting, understand and take effective measurement to mitigate and manage the risk during NRW execution. Conduct properly work closure including normalizing the process as per plan and carry out house keeping at workplace.

4. Emergency response

a) Involve in CERT team/organization when appointed as part of CERT (Company Emergency response team)

b) Participate in CERT training, drills and audits defined by EHS department

c) When emergency situation occurs, follow the steps established in the emergency response plan, perform assigned role such as fire warden, first aider or rescuer

5. Committee and training

a) Involve in Production department committee as shift representative, to provide feedback to committee and assist committee to implement action items

b) Train and guide new day technicians during On-job-training

· Diploma or Nitec in Chemical engineering or equivalent.

· Minimum 2 years work experience in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
