Role Overview
The Senior Global Infrastructure Engineer is part of the Global Infrastructure and Operations Team to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure services globally. The role is responsible for overseeing and managing Organization’s Azure cloud and on-premises IT Infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Azure Cloud Management
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure Virtual Machines to meet organizational requirements.
- Design, implement, and manage Azure virtual networks, subnets, and connectivity solutions.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure storage.
- Manage Azure Backup and disaster recovery to protect critical data and systems.
- Administer and secure access to Azure resources using IAM best practices, policies, and RBAC configurations.
- Set up, manage, and optimize AVD environments.
- Configure and utilize Azure Monitor for performance tracking, log analytics, and proactive issue resolution.
- Develop and enforce governance standards using Azure Policy to maintain compliance across the organization.
- Monitor and optimize Azure resource utilization and cost.
- Ensure timely patching and updating of Azure-based resources to maintain security and compliance.
2. Window Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Servers in VMware environment to ensure service delivery.
- Continuously monitor and optimize windows server performance, perform configuration changes to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
- Manage server roles and features such as AD, DNS, DHCP and file services.
- Implement and enforce Group Policies to maintain security and compliance across systems.
- Perform regular system updates, apply patches and backups to keep systems secure.
3. Storage and backup
- Implement, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot storage issue for SAN and NAS.
- Monitor storage performance and capacity, perform optimizations to maintain efficiency.
- Implement, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Veeam backup.
- Ensure compliance with data retention policies and regulations.
4. Project Management
- Leading the implementation of IT Infrastructure projects.
- Deliver project scope, and deliverables as per agreed schedule.
- Proactively coordinate and communicate with stakeholders and team members.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure and processes.
- Prepare regular reports on IT infrastructure availability, performance and project status.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
- Professional certifications e.g. Azure Administrator Associate, Window Server Administration, and VCP are highly desirable.
- Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in Azure infrastructure solutions.
- Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in Window Server services, Domain Controller, VMware, Netapp storage, Veeam backup.
- Experience in Linux environment is a plus.
- Ability to express thoughts and complex IT solutions clearly and in a simplified manner.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven experience managing infrastructure projects and out of the box thinking to resolve challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills/Accreditations
- Fluency in Mandarin language is a plus.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any diploma with an IT background
