UMC is looking for a Defect Management (DM) Process Engineer to drive for Process Stability in defect reduction activities. You can pursue your passion in semiconductors engineering by utilizing cutting-edge and intelligent operating systems to assist with data analytics and inspection sampling strategy while staying under cycle time constraints. You will work closely with product and process owners to create and manage projects that address wafer and line yield issues.

Responsibilities

• Day to Day monitoring and ownership to timely address in-line defect abnormality escalation, handling and disposition
• Render support in Production ramp-up, New process implementation and process characterization for project success
• Evaluate and implement productivity projects for DM Production, Tool and Cost index improvement
• Define and deploy inspection tool recipes BKM to ensure detection capability
• Assist in Customer audits on inspection strategy deployment and execution
  Perform baseline defect improvement

Qualifications

• Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering , Electrical Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering and Physics
• Able to think critically with strong investigating skills
• Possess good communication skills
• Possess good time management skills as well as a strong sense of commitment
• Prior leadership or competition experience in school activities will be an advantage
• Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant prior working experience

Job Scope:

• Assist MES Process Owners in drafting process user requirements in text and Visio.
• Document and visualize processes for MES workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate requirements.
• Contribute to EBR design development with training provided.
• Support process improvement efforts aligned with project objectives.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in an engineering field

What you working on:

• Collaborate with product engineer on product sensitivity related low yield and plan to do product specific process tuning to meet baseline D0 target
• Work with Customer Engineering to resolve customer complaints and provide customers with required information to meet customer concern and satisfaction & customer caution index (CCS & CCI) goal.
• Adhere to all FAB change management, safety & ISMS procedures
• Continuous improvement in d0, WAT performance, new tape-out (NTO) success and people efficiency.
• Ensure safety awareness
• Lead sub-team in x-functional continuous improvement projects.

More about you:

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Microelectronics/Material Science/Materials Engineering/Physics Engineering
• At least 2 years of relevant PI/Yield Engineering working experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of device physics, advanced semiconductor process and SPC
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills to lead 8D team for corrective and performance actions
• Proficient in Microsoft business applications
• Proficiency in PROMIS system, Klarity ACE & DataPower will be an added advantage
