Summary

The Senior IT Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting the IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. This role provides IT support over the phone and in person to non-technical end-users and performs basic device support independently. It involves installing, assessing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading computers and equipment of various types. The engineer will fulfill customer requests, resolve technical problems, and respond to customer questions in a timely and professional manner. Building relationships with employees and providing exceptional customer service are key aspects of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT issues, serving as an escalation point for junior IT staff.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Manage and monitor security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems, to protect the organization's IT assets.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions that align with business objectives.
• Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new solutions to improve IT services.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

• Required: 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and support.
• Preferred: 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and support, with a focus on enterprise environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Required:
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and practices.

• Work Environment:
• The Senior IT Engineer will work in an office environment but may be required to travel to other company locations as needed.
