Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a candidate who can independently manage and drive both indirect and direct procurement services within the contract logistics industry. The ideal candidate will lead with positivity, persuasion, and perseverance to achieve set goals and KPIs. This role is based in our Singapore office, overseeing a team of three direct reports. The candidate must be a problem solver and critical thinker, adept at managing conflict and upholding integrity. Additionally, they will lead with empathy, guiding our procurement teams in Singapore towards procurement excellence.
- Establish and manage the Singapore procurement team and strategy, identifying, prioritizing, evaluating, and handling day-to-day procurement needs and opportunities.
- Oversee daily procurement operations and ensure the completion of tasks by the procurement staff.
- Take primary responsibility for procuring categories such as consumables, equipment, services (including contract labor and local/cross-border transport) in Singapore.
- Provide cost analysis for CAPEX purchases and leases of category items.
- Actively review cost-saving initiatives and report savings to the Head of Procurement.
- Lead business review meetings with procurement staff to assess compliance and implement improvements and best practices.
- Represent procurement in project procurement, supporting business units with competitive buying rates.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit to identify weaknesses and ensure procurement controls are established.
- Develop sourcing and procurement activities that support key business objectives.
- Establish and enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing and supplier initiatives, meeting or exceeding product and service quality standards, achieving sustainable cost reductions, and mitigating supply chain risks.
- Provide strategic direction on procurement actions, approval workflows, thresholds, and tracking related to Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders in Singapore.
- Manage contracts and prepare/review contracts and agreements.
Job Requirements:
- 8 years of experience in a related field with a degree.
- 4 years of experience in a managerial or senior-level position.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement strategies, tactics, processes, procedures, and systems.
- Experience in developing policies and procedures.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Adaptable, creative, collaborative, and strategic thinker.
- Ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and manage and prioritize work independently.
- Solid experience with relevant supply chain and logistics software.
