As a Machine Learning Research Engineer, the successful candidate will contribute to the programme by developing and implementing novel machine learning algorithms with focus on security and data privacy, as well as translating recent AI advancements to the healthcare setting.

Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are seeking Research Engineers and Research Fellows to join the exciting new Imperial/NTU CYber Protection for HEalthcaRe (IN-CYPHER) research programme on the cybersecurity of connected medical devices and systems.

The successful candidates will join the research programme which represents a collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at the newly established Imperial Global Singapore (IGS) housed within the unique CREATE campus.

Positions will be initially for 2 years fixed term (subject to 6-month probation) with potential for extension.

Job Description:

· Overseeing the daily site activities and progress, planning, implementation and monitoring work schedules in accordance with the master and detailed work programmes.

· Coordinate with different departments concerning the site work activities.

· Work closely with sub-cons, highlight any work-related matters for team's discussion and solutions.

· Supervise works on-site for proper work execution and safety.

· Handle any engineering/technical issues.

· Prepare daily progress reporting and maintain records that are up to date.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ansible Automation:

• Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks for automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify automation opportunities and implement scalable, efficient solutions.
• Maintain, optimize, and enhance existing Ansible playbooks, modules, and roles.

2. DevOps Practices:

• Promote best practices in DevOps, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Integrate automation workflows with version control systems and CI/CD tools.

3. Incident Management:

• Respond promptly to incidents and outages, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Experience:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift, Ansible, and Red Hat Middleware.

2. Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of containerization, virtualization, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Experience with configuration management tools and CI/CD platforms.
• Solid background in Linux administration and networking.

3. Certifications:

• Relevant Red Hat certifications, such as RHCSA and RHCE, are expected.
