This position involves, Electrical design support for manufacturing and field. In this position you will work with a team and across engineering disciplines (i.e. process, mechanical, software, systems) to solve issues in-house and in the field. Travel will be required for initial training and to support the customer.

Description

• Designing, developing, and/or modifying electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for use within K&S’ line of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, as well as for use in future design revisions and upcoming product lines;
• Designing electronic systems for processing analog signals within existing hardware components, including integrated circuits, analog-digital (A/D) converters, and digital to analog converters (DACs);
• Designing, testing, and refining microcontrollers and other chip-based components for implementation into manufacturing hardware.
• Designing, developing, and implementing digital electronics systems or components for use within K&S’ proprietary semiconductor manufacturing equipment, such as digital signal processing systems, microcontrollers, serial peripheral interfaces, and similar systems.
• Analyzing equipment to establish operating data, conducting experimental tests and evaluating results with the goal of selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• Carrying out ongoing testing and refinement work related to electrical systems and subsystems, with the objective of evaluating these components’ effectiveness and efficiency (both individually and in the context of the broader systems and products into which they are integrated), as well as to ensure that they are performing as expected and within intended specifications; and preparing and presenting technical reports on designated ongoing electrical development projects.

Responsibilities

• Designing, integration, and debugging of industrial robotics and controls that use motors, solenoids, switches, and sensors combined with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGA’s;
• Designing analog electronics for processing analog signals including OP Amps, A/Ds, and DACs, gain & filter stages, sensors and encoders feedback;
• Designing Digital logic using FPGA (Altera Cyclone), DSP and knowledge on PCIe, Ethernet, EtherCAT;
• Designing interconnections between electronics modules;
• Structuring of parts within an assembly BOM and at the system level; and writing code for debug of embedded control.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates

This role requires good organizational/coordination skills and management of the technical aspects of the discipline. Direct contact with the client and vendors will be necessary. The role of the Technical Safety Technical Authority (TA) for Brazil Projects is to:

• Assist to the Lead Technical Safety Engineer to ensure the Contractor’s technical deliverables for both basic engineering and detailed design meet the necessary requirements.
• Act as the expert Technical Authority for Brazil-related matters.
• Provide support to ensure that all contractors, vendors and associated safety studies meet the contractual, Classification Society, Regulatory and technical requirements related to technical safety discipline.
• Travel as required, including but not limited to shipyards in SE Asia region, China, Middle East region, other Yinson Offices (Oslo, Malaysia), candidate vessels (onshore/offshore), operational production units (offshore) and onshore support bases.
• Assist to develop the team of Technical Safety Engineers and act as the Technical Authority for the company in the Brazil region.
• Support business development/tendering, project execution and from time to time, operating units.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform as Technical Safety Technical Authority (TA) for Brazil Projects.
• Ensure that costs to Yinson are minimized and that project schedule is maintained.
• Manage the Safety Studies Contractor and other associated Contractors (where applicable), including Working Environment & Human Factors. Follow-up and monitor Contractor schedule and progress and ensure any deviation is mitigated by corrective action coordinated with YP team.
• Interact with Client and Regulatory Bodies as required.
• Identify and ensure execution of the technical safety scope of work in accordance with the legal obligations, regulatory requirements, contract terms, scope of work, technical requirements and company policy.
• Interact with and support the engineering contractors as required (including Safety Studies, Marine Engineering, Hull Engineering, Topsides Module Engineering, Integration Engineering, LQ Engineering, Shipyard Engineering, etc).
• Achieving resolution of multi-discipline equipment problems by coordinating with other discipline engineers and project engineering management team.
• Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging methodology improvements; and absorbing new practices from clients and partners.
• Engineering problem solving and troubleshooting, even when not directly in own discipline (taking a holistic approach to the project).
• Coordinate discipline issues between client, contractors, vendors and other relevant parties.
• Provide input to weekly/monthly progress reporting and other relevant status information as needed.
• Participate in audits and review processes as necessary
• Interact with non-technical disciplines as required (document control, cost control, planning).
• Other tasks as requested by the VP Engineering or Engineering Manager.

QHSSE Duties – every employee shall:

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured inspection plans and collaborate with cross functions to improve tests and inspections
• Responsible for estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating customers’ escalations and feedback as well as investigating the causes of non-conformances and to implement solutions
• Responsible for initiating corrective actions for procedural, product or process deficiencies and handling of NCR/MRB/DMRB disposition, working with internal teams and Operations to look into Root Cause and Corrective actions (RCCA)

In this role some of the tasks that need to be carried out in Metro Operation (CR1/CR2) include understanding of the CR2 process and reviewing production reports and making adjustments to production plans to ensure production plans are being met, forecasting staffing and training needs, monitoring performance of employees and providing performance feedback, mentoring towards career development. Execute Area Production Plans

•Review production reports to ensure production plans are being met, and make adjustments to production plans as needed

•Determine area equipment setup and equipment / operator ratio
