Job Responsibilities:

• Be competent in actual plant operation, and support and assist the shift supervisors and production technicians in the production of EVOH
• Monitor and maintain utility supply system operation
• Arrange disposal of waste products with authorized waste handling companies
• Control raw materials inventories
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and commissioning of equipment
• Work with Maintenance Department on Transition and shutdown maintenance planning
• Review and update all standard operating procedures, training manual and conduct classroom and on the job training for process technicians
• Lead safety activities for PPE, 5S, KY and other safety exercise for technicians
• Support the orientation, training and supervision and evaluation of newly employed and existing production personnel according to the Total Company Training Plan and production demands
• Manage the training of production technicians to achieve the standards required of HSEQ policy and its compliance system i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and SS 651
• Participate in continual and process improvement

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years polymer or petrochemical plant experience
• Ability to lead people in a supervision or lead role
• Exceptional knowledge and application of all safety rules and safety processes required in a chemical plant
• Experience in the operation of chemical plant equipment (such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, instrumentation systems, extruders, and continuous stirred tank reactors)

Job Scope:

• Perform set-up of the production stations according to the product specifications
• Operate the assigned semi-automatic machines to ensure that quality, production target and efficiency are met per the production schedule/ requirement
• Ensure equipment's parameters are within specifications and the products are according to the product specification and BOM
• Perform troubleshooting and rectification of the machinery, including resolving any equipment issues
• Ensure proper in-process check is carried out on the production floor
• Perform housekeeping of the work area and machines
• Assist the Plant Manager / Production Supervisor in achieving the production target/shipment plan
• Perform any spare part check/stock take etc
• Ensure all safety precautions in troubleshooting and operating the machines are strictly adhered to per the requirements
• To comply with all defined safe work procedures and to use appropriate PPE before operating any equipment or performing any activities.
• To comply and support company initiatives to protect the environment eg. recycling efforts or proper disposal of unwanted waste etc
