Job Description: Production Supervisor (Dessert & Beverage Manufacturing)
Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor in Dessert & Beverage Manufacturing oversees the production processes for desserts and beverages, ensuring consistency in recipes, quality standards, and efficiency. This role involves managing production staff, refining recipes, and optimizing workflows to meet production targets while maintaining safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management:
Supervise, mentor, and guide production staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training on production processes, safety protocols, and recipe adherence.
Foster teamwork and a collaborative environment to maximize productivity.
2. Production Operations:
Oversee the manufacturing processes of desserts and beverages, including ingredient preparation, mixing, cooking, portioning, and packaging.
Ensure consistency in recipes and compliance with production guidelines.
Manage production schedules to meet customer demand and minimize waste.
3. Recipe Development and Refinement:
Collaborate with R&D teams to develop, test, and refine dessert and beverage recipes.
Ensure recipes are scalable for mass production without compromising quality.
Document and maintain recipe specifications and production methods.
4. Quality Assurance and Food Safety:
Ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality and food safety standards.
Conduct routine inspections and implement corrective actions for any deviations.
Enforce compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO, and other relevant certifications.
5. Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance production efficiency, streamline workflows, and improve product consistency.
Implement Lean Manufacturing practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Evaluate and improve the production of new and existing dessert and beverage lines.
6. Equipment and Maintenance:
Oversee the use and maintenance of specialized equipment for dessert and beverage manufacturing.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
7. Safety and Compliance:
Promote a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to workplace safety regulations.
Train staff on hygiene practices and safety procedures specific to food manufacturing.
Investigate and report incidents, proposing preventative measures.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in dessert and beverage production, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Hands-on experience with recipe development, scaling, and production for desserts and beverages.
Strong understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000).
Familiarity with production equipment such as mixers, blenders, and packaging machines.
