Job Overview

You are responsible for marketing and canvassing for new businesses; and fostering long-term relationships with existing clients and stakeholders. You are expected to be prompt, adaptable and accountable in delivering high quality sales and service support in this dynamic shipping environment. You are to develop a keen sense of upcoming shipping developments to assess business opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Pro-actively identify and develop profitable new business opportunities through existing principals and shippers to generate increased revenue and market share
• Identify market segment to target the sales and marketing efforts for our shipping agency, terminal operations and logistics services
• Develop strategy and business plans to penetrate the targeted market segment
• Develop action steps to implement the business plans
• Provide timely and constructive response to principals and shippers’ requests and enquiries
• Visit shippers on a regular basis to maintain rapport and obtain feedback
• Network and cold call ship owners and shippers to utilize our services
• Negotiate rates and the optimum service level that can be provided
• Prepare quotations and close deals
• Collaborate with Terminal Operation Dept and other supporting departments to provide a seamless service and faster turnaround service for the vessels
• Keep abreast of developments in the shipping and related industries as well as competitor’s rates and terms
• Perform any other duties as requested
• Opportunities for further development upon assessment of potential

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification or above in sales & marketing, maritime or related field
• At least one year of sales experience preferred
• An added advantage for those with shipping sales experience
• Some overseas travelling around the region may be required
• Must participate in entertainment activities
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Outgoing personality with good interpersonal, public relations and negotiation skills
• Resourceful, resilient and self-motivated
• Interest in developing one’s career in the maritime industry is a plus

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Partnership Distribution, you will be providing operational support to the Affinity Partnership team.

• Sales Report Management – Track daily sales results captured in the system and highlight any potential errors or discrepancies. Check sales results against sales report provided by partners to ensure accuracy.Provide weekly sales report by partners’ performance, campaigns and product lines. To provide any other reports as required.
• Sales Leads Management – Extract daily / weekly / monthly customer leads through partners and campaigns to in-house call centre for cross-sell. Report cross-sell results in weekly sales report. Work closely with call centre manager on leads extraction, leads utilization and accurate sales reporting.
• Operational Support – Manage invoicing and ensuring on-time payment by partners. Communicate with partners or vendors for any related matters. Provide support for ad-hoc events, e.g. roadshows, campaigns, product launch, trainings and other promotional activities when required.
• Business Support – Participate in UAT system testing when required. Communicate with internal departments such as Marketing, Finance, IT for any tasks assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration or related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience in General Insurance.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Resourceful, Strong project management and organization skills.
• Able to work independently and as a team under tight datelines and pressure.
• Adaptable to changes and ability to multi-task.
• Competent in MS office especially in Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
• Certifications in BCP and PGI will be a plus.

• Enforce and bookkeep all PDPA requests, such as updates and access of personal data from outside the organisation.
• Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Imagene Labs Pte Ltd, which includes, order fulfilment, logistics, customer service, etc.
• Attend weekly meeting with Imagene Labs HODs & higher management and report on ops department progress.
• Complete monthly business completion report to the finance department for data analysis.
• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the operations department.
• Enforce cost cutting within the department such as sourcing new vendors with lower cost, etc.
• Assist colleagues across all departments on all daily operation matters

Responsibilities:

• Daily monitoring of Suspense / Transit accounts in GL, perform investigation of the accounting entries for the outstanding items and follow up with Operation departments to clear the items
• Prepare Daily Gap report (Balance Sheet assets and liabilities by maturity / repricing / behavioral time
• buckets )
• Month-end closing of General Ledger, including adjustments & provision of Expected Credit Loss, and preparation of Financial Statements.
• Prepare Monthly / Quarterly MAS regulatory reporting
• Prepare Monthly / Quarterly HO regulatory reporting
• Monthly GL control reconciliation, quarterly submission to HO
• Prepare year-end financial audit schedules and accounts.
• Performance User Acceptance Testing for accounting of new products
• Provide back up to other members in the department

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or Equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance function in the banking industry
• Good skills in MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to multi-task and drive desired outcomes with tight timelines
