The Operations Director is responsible for operational leadership and support for the Global IS Business Line, achieved by working in collaboration with the Senior Leadership team to enable the efficient, productive, cost effective and safe delivery of Integrated Solutions to all clients. The Operations Director will adopt a whole of SJ Group view in line with all of SJ Group’s Strategic Plans, Business Plans and financial targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Programme Development and Execution: Design, execute, and review children and youth programmes (e.g. academic). Ensure that all programmes align with Tasek’s holistic development ethos, emphasising not only skill acquisition but also personal growth, values, and life skills.
2. Outreach Activities: Organise, carry out, and analyse community engagement activities such as booth staffing, school engagements, and social media campaigns to recruit programme participants.
3. Needs Assessment: Conduct basic needs assessments for each beneficiary to recognise unique strengths and challenges, and co-design action plans to address these needs.
4. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain current programme records, monitor beneficiaries' progress, and prepare regular reports to communicate the effectiveness of the programme.
5. Stakeholder Management: Work effectively with community partners and collaborate on programmes and other initiatives. Supervise programme instructors ensuring quality delivery of programme content.

Technical Competency

1. Educational Background: Minimum Diploma qualification in fields such as education, humanities, social sciences, social work, and communications.
2. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or any youth-focused social service role is favoured. Having a sporting background or experience in an arts/dance/music education environment will be beneficial.

Job Description

Nanyang Business School competes with top business schools worldwide to attract senior professionals from diverse backgrounds to join its graduate programmes. The key purpose of the role is to provide world-class career services to NBS’s graduate students, and manage employer relationships in key sectors, and source for suitable positions for NBS’s graduate students.

The position holder is responsible for driving employer engagement with companies in China, to bring jobs for 300 to 400 students.

Responsibilities:

1. GSCDO leadership:

• Engage in team leadership to problem-solve GSCDO’s strategy, including identifying and introducing strategic initiatives for GSCDO that will lift the level of career services for all GS participants.
• Lead the operationalisation of new strategic initiatives for GSCDO, including and not limited to leading team to launch these initiatives.
• Engage with the GSCDO team in providing multi-faceted career workshops, networking events, company presentations, etc.

2. Drive Business Development and Employer Engagement to secure full-time jobs and internship opportunities in China:

• Develop strategy for tiering and engaging companies in China, with view to securing full-time jobs, internships and industry projects for students.
• Identify and build strong partnerships with recruiters and hiring managers in China, particularly in key hiring sectors.
• Work closely with internal NTU/NBS stakeholders such as Associate Deans, Academic Directors, Program and Management Office, NTU Career Office, Alumni Affairs Offices, Development Offices to source for full-time jobs and internship placements from existing and new industry contacts.
• Maintain a deep understanding of market factors relative to employer organisations in China.
• Cultivate deep relationship with China-based alumni, particularly in key hiring sectors.

3. Partner for all China roles:

• Be the go-to partner for all GSCDO Career Leads in areas of understanding China employers and employment trends.
• Support NBS endeavors in China e.g., sourcing for industry projects and managing industry visits (e.g. SIFT).

4. Provide student counselling for all China roles:

• Develop calendar of recruitment activities to ensure pipeline of China roles are availed to all post-graduate students.
• Place students in their desired roles (full-time jobs and internships).
• Monitor student’s performance and growth during internships and prepare to intervene with win-win solutions for both student and industry partner.
• All other tasks assigned to role.

Requirements:

• Degree from a top-tier global business school is required.
• Good knowledge of practices and hiring mandates of companies across different sectors in China.
• At least 10 year’s work experience, possessing strong and deep networks with companies in China.
• Proven track record of business development including internal and external successful collaborative and leadership experience.
• Work experience in China and other international markets will be a distinct advantage.
• Outstanding ability to manage senior stakeholders, as well as interacting with people of varying levels and backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including ability to deliver high impact presentations to senior executives.
