About KidSTART Department:

KidSTART provides upstream support to children from low-income families in the areas of early childhood development, health, and social support. Programme Development

1. Assess complexity of client needs and the scope of services or programmes to be provided

Roles & Responsibilities:

Centre Operations

• Assisting with overall operation at the Day Activity Centre for the visually impaired elderly clients and ensuring their safety.
• Planning and conducting recreational wellness programme such as physical exercise, psychosocial games, craftwork, cookery and seasonal festive activities suitable for the visually impaired clients.
• Discussing with Centre Supervisor and the team on finalizing the monthly lesson plan.
• Preparing resources and purchasing the necessary materials.
• Updating the weekly timetable to be printed and displayed in the main hall of the Day Activity Centre.
• Following the centre transport to fetch and send them back according to the duty roster.
• Following up on clients’ pertaining issue/s and highlight to supervisor and social workers when necessary.
• Able to work on ad hoc weekend commitment
• Manage and train volunteers in assisting with running of centre programmes
• Carrying out any ad-hoc duties assigned by Centre Supervisor, Manager or Executive Director

Administrative & Reporting Duties

• Assist in enrolment of new clients and conduct necessary health assessments.
• Filling in the daily progress report of the clients’ attendance and grading at the end of each session as well as the learning outcomes of each session.
• Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining up-to-date client and volunteer records. Assist with audit preparations and documentation.

Maintenance and providing care

• Disinfecting the centre before and after the programme session
• Assist in serving clients’ meals and guiding clients to the toilet when needed
• Handling household tasks such as washing and sterilizing dishes
• Managing and restocking of food inventory (such as instant drinks and snacks for tea break)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong passion and commitment to working with seniors who are visually handicapped.
• Preferably experienced in direct operational roles, especially in eldercare, including programme facilitation and needs assessment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Bilingual abilities with proficiency in dialects preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant qualification in eldercare or social services preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

· Possess Higher Diploma or Diploma in Gerontology, ITE NITEC in Community Care and Social Services, or Diploma in Social Enterprise/Entrepreneurship

· Ability to train volunteers to facilitate creative arts / baking / cooking / singing / music instruments / florist / live streaming in senior programmes.

· Ability to host or deliver programmes in front of a crowd of 10 – 80 seniors is a must.

· Familiarity with live-stream or data-entry and administration is preferred.

· Experience in social services not necessary

· Fully conversant and able to translate in Malay / Mandarin and English, ability to converse in Hokkien / Teochew will be a bonus, due to clients being seniors.

· Must be a good team-player, with a passion to work with seniors.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in strategic work targeting systemic change - both in internal work, and/or to respond to the changing landscape of Singapore’s social service provision
• Lead and manage the team to deliver timely and quality service in case management, befriending and case advocacy work
• Oversee and manage the budget, planning, development, monitoring and evaluation of the programme
• Lead team capacity building via clinical and administrative supervision and training
• Engage in staff recruitment, onboarding and training
• Provide casework, including crisis intervention to meet overall needs of survivors of gender based violence, including their significant others, when needed.
• Liaise with authorities like the criminal justice system, police, hospitals and other social service community partners to increase service access for survivors
• Promote case management and CARE services through knowledge exchange and collaboration with community partners
• Work closely within the CARE team, with external consultants, across departments and the Executive Director
• Collaboratively design and conduct Sexual Violence related groupworks
• Conduct related training to volunteers, staff and community partners for capacity building
• Any other necessary tasks as required by the Head of Department, based on capacity

Qualifications and Work Experience

• Recognized Masters degree in social work, psychology or counselling
• Minimum 5-8 years in case management or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial and/or supervisory role in a social service organisation or related
• In-depth knowledge of case management principles, practices and procedures, with skills in training and capacity building in these areas
• Familiarity with relevant local legal, regulatory and industry practices and guidelines that affect case management services
• Experience in managing daily operation, programme development, implementation and evaluation
• Experience in strategy planning, work planning and managing people and financial resources effectively
• Experience in gender violence and trauma work (preferred)
• Experience in advocacy work (preferred)
• Experience in conducting group work (preferred)

Skills
