Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/Control Systems Engineering or related disciplines

• Mandarin speaking preferred as will be liaising with overseas vendors
• Basic knowledge on Industrial Control Real Time Systems such as PLC/SCADA/IoT
• Basic programming skills in VB, C, C++, Java, C# etc is advantageous
• Additional skills in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office are advantageous

Roles:

-Interpretation and analyze of production drawings & documents.

-Implementing best fabrication / machining practices and techniques to develop and maintain efficient processes to achieve productivity, quality and safety.

-Planning of project and management of the project team to keep project on schedule and budget.

-Handle all day-to-day issues and troubleshooting problems as they arises finding efficient and effective solutions.

-Estimate costs for quotation preparation.

-Coordinate and work closely with management, customers, contractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

-NItec / Diploma in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related.

-At least 5 years experience in metal fabrication and machine shop activities.

Job Description:

• Read and interpret Structural, Piping, HVAC, mechanical electrical drawings.
• Manage a team of Superintendents, Supervisors, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation.
• Manage & chair day to day VSCC (Vessel Safety Coordination Committee Meetings).
• Assist in providing cost estimates for labour, supplies, materials and other project costs.
• Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline.
• Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
• Create schedules for workers and subcontractors.
• Work closely with commercial team and forecast Subcontractor’s requirements and assign scopes accordingly.
• Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary.
• Make changes in the operation as necessary to best met construction deadlines.
• Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
• Prepare day to day reports & update project master schedule.
• Conduct weekly internal production meetings & Weekly client – shipyard interphase meeting.
• Prepare meeting minutes and disseminate every week to all personals related to the assigned project.
• Maintain project variation order records, technical query records, Drawing transmittal records and disseminate weekly.

Job Specification

• Bachelor’s / diploma in Mechanical or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Rig Construction & Shipyard experience
• Must possess MWSHSSR (Manage Workplace Safety and Health Ship building and Ship Repair)
• Must possess experience of working & managing Jack up rig upgradation / repair assignments in shipyard environment
• Excellent English command, including writing, speaking and active listening
• Proficient in MS Office applications (ie. Microsoft Excel)
• Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices and assist commercial team in preparing quotes.
• Good planning skills, including execution, resource allocation and manage contingencies
• Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
• In-depth understanding of MOM construction regulations

We are looking for some one who are able to use AutoCAD to do shopdrawings as well as able to do quantity taking off.

At times, you may need to visit sites to better understand the scope of the works.

• Supervise at the project site.
• Liaise with client's representatives with regards to all site matters with proper documentation.
• Coordinate with main contractor for installation works.
• Attend site meeting if required.
• Ensure that staff and subcontractors carry out their work in a safe manner.
• Responsible for monitoring the daily process and progress at the project site.
• Conduct project site inspection on a regular basis.
• Identify and records quality control problems during site work.
• Responsible for determining the cause of the quality problem and initiate corrective action.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by Superior.
• Basic construction technical knowledge will be advantage.
