Job Purpose
To assist the Construction Director with delivering a quality service and product to our clients in line with the project goals by working with the professional team, within the culture of 8build, by utilising all its systems and procedures.
Candidate Profile
The ideal person will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on projects.
You must be an effective communicator, experienced in liaising with clients, sub-contractors and professional teams.
You will have experience in maintaining and developing client relationships, key skills in project planning, time management and effective communication to manage the project supply chain.
Key Deliverables
· Establish and maintain a high level relationship with the client and all associated professional teams
· To support the Construction Director to take responsibility for the construction of a project
· To identify problems and offer solutions
· To deliver “turnkey” projects as appropriate
· To suggest trade contractors, systems and manufacturers for team appraisal
· To review design and shop drawings, the project programme and contribute where necessary
· To contribute information to the proposal team, if required
· To attend and present at the “pitch”
· To be aware of the existence of marketing relationships with external professionals and clients
· To actively promote 8build philosophy and culture
· To assist in producing precise and succinct project reports
· To assist in producing the programme schedule.
· Support the presentation of the project to the client
· To offer buildability advice and value engineering solutions
· Be aware of element costings and costs/ft2
· Possess an understanding of construction methods and M&E systems
· Promote and implement Zero Defects Initiative
· To implement 8build systems and procedures.
Essential skills and qualifications
· Minimum 5 years’ experience
· Methodical approach to duties
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Projects and ability to use at a minimum basic level to produce documents and project schedules
· Sensitive to political situations - good relationship builder
· Ability to make decisions and advice
· Prepared to be innovative
· Pleasant and confident telephone manner
