Senior Civil Engineer

Primary Role

Responsible for advanced Planning, designing, integrating, installation, rigging and lifting equipment, including management of contractors and vendors.

Responsible for supervising and assessing the set-up of all project components, managing all aspects of an engineering project, prepare schedules, communicate with clients and project progress.

Key Activities

1. Provide guidance and direction to civil engineering staff, ensuring their compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and codes
2. Oversee and regularly review engineering processes and resources to maximize efficiency and productivity
3. Develop plans for new engineering initiatives, including investigating new technologies and developing plans for new project implementations
4. Required to be analytical and precise, in order to explore alternative solutions and analyze feasibility of plans
5. Work independently and coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement new processes and technology, to offer innovative solutions to customers
6. Design, communicate and implement an operational plan, create and maintain cost estimates for projects and programs
7. Identify, develop, and gather the resources necessary to complete the project. This may include preparing engineering standards, designs, and work specifications
8. Developing project schedules, budget, and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, and external contractors
9. Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (engineering, design, drafting, technical) to secure specialize resources and contributions for the project
10. Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
11. Set priorities, allocate tasks, and to meet project targets and milestones, ensure smooth authority submission
12. Solve technical issues such as drawing discrepancies, site condition changes, verify plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy, raise RFI when necessary
13. Ensure accuracy of setting out, levelling and site surveying and all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
14. Liaising with project consultants, architect, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
15. Support Project manager to liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
16. Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress
17. Overseeing quality control and assist safety department to achieve health and safety target on site
18. Preparing method statement, daily weekly and monthly report
19. Ensuring all site inspection and record as per client/developer requirement
20. Ensuring all testing and quantity inspection are carried out as per contract requirement
21. Analyze and resolve engineering problems and demonstrate effective skills in oral and written communication

Requirements

Min 5 years experiences in civil, infrastructure projects

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, PE board recognized

What you'll be doing

General Summary of Responsibilities

• Assists the Condominium Manager in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the assigned condominium.
• Helps to supervise and coordinate the building supervisor and / or the technician / contractors assigned to the condominium.
• Handles renewal of term contracts and up-keeping of contractual records.
• Ensure compliance with divisional policies & ISO Procedures.

Specific Job Requirements:

Maintenance

• Assist in the management and maintenance of all facilities (swimming pool, spa pool, sauna, gym, squash and tennis courts, playgrounds, patting green, BBQ pits, function room, games room) including car parks, landscape areas and all M&E plants, fixtures and fittings.
• Defect list and fixing date of inspection and closing summary of defect list and appointment dates.

Customer Service/ Public Relation

• Establish and maintain good relationship with subsidiary proprietors and occupiers of the condominium

Purchasing / Work Order

• Raise Contractor Requisition forms for ad hoc plus term contractors.
• Invite quotations for renewal of service contracts
• Prepare proposal / for councils’ approval
• Prepare Letter of award
• Update and maintain contract or list
• Prepare Work Order / Purchase Order for repair works and building inventory

Facility Booking

• Ensure proper and fair booking system is carried out for the use of all the recreational facilities.
• Ensure proper records of all collection.
• Ensure monies collected are remitted to Trust Accounts Department promptly.

Complaint Management

• Keep proper records of and attend to all complaints, queries and feedback made by the subsidiary proprietors/residents and maintain good relationship at all times.
• Ensure all residents’ complaints are attended to promptly and efficiently

Meetings

• Ensure all correspondences, statutory notifications and enquiries are promptly handled
• Co-ordinate council meetings and general meetings.
• Attend Council Meetings and Annual General Meetings.

Emergency Response

• In an emergency situation which occurs after office hours, ensure all concerned parties are contacted and recalled to attend and rectify/ reset the fault quickly.

Event Management

• Planning, organizing activities, decoration during major festive seasons, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Easter, Moon Cake Festival, National Day, Christmas.

Staff Management

• Day to day supervision of the technicians / service providers.
• Monitor attendance of staff and service providers on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide secretarial and administrative support to the project manager and his team so as to facilitate the project’s smooth execution throughout its lifecycle.
• Provides daily secretarial and administrative support to project manager including travel arrangement.
• Coordinates and provides logistic support for project meetings, record minutes of meeting and follow-up outstanding items with relevant parties.
• Compiles and provides updated key project information (e.g. project org chart, personnel movement, etc.) to relevant stakeholders for reporting/processing purposes.

Job Description:

• Manage the project site by overseeing the day-to-day site operation and activities.
• Plan, implement and monitor the work schedules according to the master and detailed work programmes.
• Assist the Project Manager in planning and sequencing of the construction operations according to the Project Quality Plan.
• Liaise with client's representatives on site, sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Conduct inspections and check on work performed by sub-contractors.
• Assist Project Manager in the evaluation and resolution of any discrepancies and problems arising during construction and which has an effect on quality of the works.
• Ensure that only updated Construction drawings and Approved shop drawings are used by all for construction. Co-ordinate the handing over of completed works to the client and completion of the necessary rectification works.
• Update the status of materials stock balance and advise Project Manager when to place replenishment orders. Any duties to be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

• Minimum degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by the PEB Approved Qualifications / BOA Approved Qualifications.
• Minimum 2-3 years relevant working experiences or local fresh graduates are welcome
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and knowledge of BIM
• Good communicative skills, able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork
• Able to start work immediately
