You will join a team of experts addressing some of the most intriguing public policy challenges of our time, including AI, privacy, safety, freedom of expression, and the growth of the digital economy. This position is based in Singapore and reports to the Director of Public Policy for South & Central Asia.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Central Asia regional policy lead to develop and execute strategic regional policy plans, aligned with global policy priorities and local market needs.
• Track key policy developments in Central Asia, focusing on issues at the intersection of technology, social media, and the digital economy, and provide timely analysis and recommendations to relevant teams.
• Support strategic engagements with policymakers, NGOs, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders across Central Asia to advance Meta’s public policy interests on issues such as safety, security, content policy, AI, and other technology-relevant matters.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across product, legal, marketing, and communications to enhance internal and external understanding of key policy issues in Central Asia and promote Meta’s policy positions.
• Help prepare submissions and responses to consultations from external stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and industry bodies, on relevant policy matters in Central Asia.
• Foster strategic partnerships with advocacy groups, academia, and industry bodies in Central Asia to promote Meta’s policy goals and support the growth of the digital economy in the region.
• Travel to Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, political science, international relations, public policy)
• 4+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or a related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of the political, economic, and social landscape in Central Asia (particularly Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think strategically and creatively
• Effective communication skills, with the capacity to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience working on your own and as part of a team, with a high level of self-motivation and discipline
• Capacity to manage and drive multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously.
• Dedication to leveraging technology for positive change and addressing key policy issues such as AI, online content and safety, privacy, and internet governance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Policy experience at a multi-national corporation or institution working in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
• Experience with policy advocacy, executing policy programs or campaigns domestically and/or internationally

2. Client ManagementAct as the main point of contact for vessel masters and clients, addressing queries and concerns promptly.
   Ensure all services are delivered in line with client expectations and contracts.
   Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to enhance satisfaction.
   
3. Documentation and CompliancePrepare and review shipping documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, and port clearance documents.
   Ensure compliance with local and international maritime regulations and company policies.
   Maintain accurate records of services provided and costs incurred.
   
4. Cost Control and ReportingMonitor expenses related to vessel services and ensure cost-effectiveness.
   Prepare and submit operational reports, including cost analysis and service summaries.
   Assist in budget preparation and performance tracking.
   
5. Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain positive working relationships with port authorities, customs officials, and third-party vendors.
   Coordinate with internal teams such as procurement, finance, and operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
   

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of marine and shipping operations, including port regulations and vessel requirements.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office and maritime logistics systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
