Job Title Manager (Development)
Location Institute of Policy Studies, NUS Bukit Timah Campus
Reports to Associate Director (Development)
Purpose
The IPS Manager (Development) will help manage the Development team, whose primary responsibility is to build strong bonds and networks with existing and prospective donors with a view to raising funds for the Institute and its projects. This position will contribute to identifying opportunities, developing and executing campaigns, and managing the day-to-day functions of the team.
Key criteria for success
After 12 months in the position, you will have worked together with the IPS Associate Director (Development) and team to meet the following targets:
â–ª Meet team fundraising targets for the IPS Corporate Associates programme and annual projects such as the Singapore Perspectives Conference.
â–ª Meet team fundraising targets for ad-hoc initiatives such as the SG60 Conference and the new $15 million named fund.
â–ª Actively develop relationships with existing donors through in-person meetings.
â–ª Build pipeline of donors (new and existing) for major and principal level gifts.
â–ª Learn from and build close relations with the Donor Engagement team to synthesise efforts and support cross departmental collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
â–ª Work closely with Associate Director (Development) to strategically elevate donor engagement and boost financial support.
â–ª Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, ensuring a continuous flow of new opportunities for giving.
â–ª Drive fundraising success by leading select initiatives, securing major gifts and nurturing relationships with high value donors.
â–ª Conduct in-depth donor research and develop a robust fundraising pipeline, positioning IPS for long-term growth and success.
â–ª Lead a thorough evaluation of existing donors and prospects, developing strategies to expand the IPS donor base and enhance visibility, impact and resources.
â–ª Oversee and ensure timely and meaningful donor stewardship, including crafting personalised thank you notes, stewardship reports and recognition opportunities.
â–ª Managing comprehensive donor communications, including tailored stewardship repots, to ensure that donors are informed and appreciated, especially those contributing endowed funds or specific purpose gifts.
â–ª Plan and execute memorable donor events such as recognition receptions, luncheons, dinners and dedication ceremonies, coordinating logistics like invitations, speakers, catering, and guest lists to create exceptional donor experiences.
â–ª Maintain and update donor and prospect records, ensuring accurate tracking in the database for efficient and effective donor engagement.
Experience and knowledge
Essential
▪ At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
â–ª Fundraising experience in a non-profit organisation or education institute.
â–ª Proven track record of raising major and principal level gifts from a variety of income sources.
â–ª Demonstrable experience in project management, managing a range of concurrent priorities and agendas.
â–ª Experience working in a collaborative team.
Desirable
â–ª Knowledge of best practices and trends in fundraising and the ability to develop and implement strategies for growth.
