Position Summary

SHEIN is seeking a senior product compliance specialist who will be responsible for managing the Company’s product compliance concerns in the APAC (ex-Mainland China) region and working closely with the product compliance functions globally. This will include compliance activities such as enabling market access, reporting compliance trends, managing first party product investigations and recalls, and auditing product compliance on the SHEIN website.

Responsibilities

● Work as an integral part of the legal team to lead comprehensive product compliance standards.

● Ensure product compliance policies and procedures are thoroughly developed, clearly communicated, and implemented effectively by business partners.

● Identify gaps, and close gaps, in the product compliance program.

● Work closely with the product safety and quality control team within the supply chain business and direct business partners as to actions that must be taken to minimise product risk.

● Working in English and Mandarin to provide product compliance standards and other regulatory information.

● Perform other duties as assigned or required to ensure product compliance in the APAC region.

Skills and Qualifications

● A degree in a relevant area (science, law or engineering), as well as a minimum of 10 years of relevant combined experience in consumer product compliance (product safety; regulations research; standards interpretation, guidance, and enforcement actions; technical writing; competitive intelligence services; and / or product recalls). Additional years of relevant work experience will be required for those with unrelated educational backgrounds.

● Thorough understanding of manufacturers, private label retail, third-party platforms, government authorities, industry associations and voluntary standards committees and the roles each plays in product safety and product recalls, in particular for markets such as Japan, Korea, Singapore and Australia.

● Ability to utilise a wide variety of research databases and online resources.

● Ability to interpret regulations and standards and to quickly assimilate and assess new information and develop plans to capitalise or react to these requirements.

• Lead and support departmental meetings as necessary.
• Deliver Trauma-informed practices in daily staff and residents interactions/management.
• Coach and mentor new employee onboarding effectively with accurate and timely documentation records.
• Responsible in achieving Department goals
• Ensure work goals are aligned with Department goals

Role Function

• Cover the role of the shift staff when necessary
• Effective and fair roster planning to cater to the needs of the daily operations.
• Ensure adherence to the SOPs in the daily operations of the hostel
• Coach YWAs and NRCWs to perform their roles effectively
• Coordinate with other Departments when necessary
• Manage and oversee all documentations required for the department
• Assist HOD in preparation and submission of Monthly/Quarterly reports
• Assist HOD in managing crafting/reviewing/amending SOPs as per required
• Oversee all investigation and review investigation process/approach/techniques (Discipline Committee Chair)
• Oversee all the process in hostel (e.g. approved / prohibited items list / confiscated / safekeeping / remand items / body check, property check and dorm check)
• Oversight on departmental portfolio progress.

Development Function

• Assist HOH/HOD in roles and functions which are assigned.
• Assist HOD in planning the development of the YWA and NRCWs in the department.
• Assist HOD in reviewing current and implementing new process to meet requirements of the Ministry.
• Identify and attend courses/training for personal and professional growth and development.

Taskforce Involvement

• Able to lead taskforces within the department
• Able to represent the department to contribute in inter-department/inter-division taskforces
