Key Objective

The Executive, Consumer Relations (CROs) of the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) are the first point of contact for consumers who seek advice and/or redress for their contractual disputes with businesses. CROs require relevant skills and acumen to handle a wide variety of consumer to business disputes and to assist parties in negotiating an amicable settlement. Consumers may either lodge their disputes online or schedule an appointment to meet the CROs in person.

Core Responsibilities:

Consultation Service

• Review the complaints submitted by consumers, dealing directly with them over the telephone, email, through face to face and online channels.
• Review the contractual documents and provide advice to consumers on their contractual rights, and options to seek redress.

Dispute Resolution

• Handle the disputes, dealing directly with consumers and businesses over the telephone, email, through face to face and online channels.
• Gather, collate and organise relevant documentation.
• Seek to achieve an amicable resolution for both parties through negotiation and mediation sessions in a timely manner.
• Ensure proper filing and prompt closure of all complaints.

Other Roles

• Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned which may include: -
• Generation of statistics and reports.
• Review and analysis of complaint trends and figures.
• Coordination of mediation sessions.
• May be assigned to call centre duties.
• Support and participate in CASE projects and initiatives.
• Other projects and duties as assigned by Management.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability

• Diploma or Degree from a recognized tertiary institution. Law related courses will be an advantage.
• Possess strong communication, diplomacy and negotiation skills. Ability to speak more than one language is preferred.
• Possess strong writing skills.
• Possess sound judgement, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous, well-organized and able to handle pressure effectively.
• Keen interest and/or experience in dispute resolution and fair business practices will be an advantage.
• Competence and experience in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel (Pivot table) will be an advantage.

Job Description:

• Mainly handle day to day AR activities, including daily cash collection
• Handle Account Receivable transaction and update receipts from debtors
• Review AR aging trial balance
• Assist in preparing journals, adjustment and audit schedule
• Handle revenue reconciliation, bank reconciliation and cashflow projection
• Assist in ad-hoc finance duties assigned

Job Objective

The commercial officer plays a key role in the overall commercial operation. The commerical officer is responsible for assisting towards the smooth operation of the Commercial Department.

Key Accountabilities:

• Coordinating visit requests from Suppliers
• Providing administrative assistance to the Commercial Manager
• Participating in undertaking and executing special tasks/projects as requested by the Management
• Maintaining the Department filing systems
• Maintaining a customer complaints log
• Maintain database of contracted Supplier’s details (incl. Supplier Request Form)
• Maintain a database of evaluations received from Members on contracted Suppliers
• Ensuring that all Member and Supplier agreements are filed, archived and available at all times
• Maintain Department Working List with updated information on all Members/Clients/vessels/contracts.
• Responsible for collecting all fleet changes of Members and submit to Commercial Manager for further action.
• Ensuring that the vessels information and fleet lists of Members are kept updated and circulated to relevant parties
• Ensuring distribution lists are up to date and available at all times
• Assist Commercial Manager in preparing all tender documents
• Take and distribute minutes of meetings
• Support statistics and analysis related to contract utilization and supplier performance
• Collect, develop, analyze and report statistical data to Commercial Manager reflecting activity with contracted suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain benchmarking records between suppliers/potential suppliers upon request.

Requirements

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

• At least 3 years relevant work experience in a similar role in the maritime industry

Responsibilities

• Taking part in brainstorming sessions and suggesting innovative ideas.

• Assisting with the development and distribution of PR materials, including brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, and videos.

• Editing and proofreading social media content, videos, press releases, emails, and other communications about clients that will be sent to the public.

• Assisting with the organization and execution of various media and PR events. Managing PR materials, filing, copying, and performing other clerical tasks.
