Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Information Technology Division, Cloud & Platforms Department.

Key responsibilities include:

• Set the technology roadmap and standards for database technologies covering traditional RDBMSs as well as modern NoSQL / specialised databases
• Implement and maintain full operational lifecycle procedures from deployment, to maintenance/patching, backup/recovery and decomm using extensive automation
• Provide 24x7 operational support of database systems with responsibility for uptime, overall system performance, identifying root cause and implementing improvements to avoid recurrence
• Perform security compliance activities, e.g. security reviews, implementing security controls, logging etc
• Provide end-to-end support and advisory including support required by application developers

Requirements

• Possess a degree in Information Technology or related fields with good experience in multiple data or database centric roles
• Strong understanding of database concepts with deeper knowledge of Oracle and MySQL
• Experience is required in the following areas:Strong understanding of operational processes and automation
  Shell scripting, ideally using Python
  Performance, capacity planning and database/query tuning.
• The ideal candidate will have:Experience working with Continuous Integration and Delivery and how it impacts persistent data tiers
  Experience working with other infrastructure teams / technologies
• Strong logical and analytical skills with the proven ability to learn new subjects quickly

· Coordinating and facilitating all Lean Manufacturing events to support continuous improvement

· Planning and implementing full Kaizen events, as well as Point Kaizens (mini-kaizens)

· Working with Plant Manager to identify events

· Defining scope and goals of each event with Team Leaders and Plant Manager

· Networking with other PST’s plant personnel to develop best practices

· Facilitating team use of Lean tools, including Kaizen 5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving Process and identifying Waste

· Leading 5-S Audits-perform with each team and follow-up to ensure measurement of successes

· Estimating potential and validating actual results (dollars saved, defects eliminated, etc.)

· Reporting and tracking the results of events, and communicating results to the appropriate employees and management by creating and publishing project and program metrics, dashboards and other results in graphical and other formats as appropriate and deemed necessary by Plant Manager

· Managing and ensuring follow-up within department to ensure the recognized gains are sustained

· Helping train the members of the department or area where events are held to improve sustainment and continuous improvements

· Developing, summarizing, and presenting project/team results in power point presentations to the Plant Team
