JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by the respective Professional Bodies, professional institutions or BCA

6 PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS

6.1 The Contractor’s support personnel managing the servers must be trained and minimally be proficient in the following areas:

Windows Server

(a) The System Engineer shall minimally possess the following requirement:

(i) At least three (3) years of experience in Microsoft Server administration;

and

(ii) Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA);

• Plan, build and optimize infrastructure setup, design and performance.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the systems engineer will provide engineering design, technical configuration, drawing of various telecommunication systems.

He/ She will possess extensive knowledge and experience in Engineering design of telecommunication, safety & security and marine navigation systems covering technologies such as IP Infrastructure, WIFI WLAN, Firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, TETRA/DMR UHF/VHF Radio, GMDSS Radio, GEO/MEO/LEO VSAT, IPTV, Radar, Gyrocompass and etc and provide engineering design, technical configuration, proof of concept as well as drawing instruction of various telecom systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering design and make a truly access and understanding of client requirement and propose the right solution to fit the specs.
• Produce engineering document (VDRL) and close the client comments in a timely, high quality and accurate manner.
• Produce scratch drawing and guide the AUTOCAD drafter to come out the engineering drawing deliverables.
• Adapt the industrial standard and best practice into the engineering drawing preparation, design, review, and submission.
• Guide the in-house technician for equipment assembly and cabinet integration; implement the system configuration, simulation, testing and verification.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) to client and provide in-house training to client as well as commissioning engineer.
• Any other ad hoc tasks required for business needs.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma in telecom or equivalent technical discipline
• Proven 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the industrial markets.
• Well organized documentation, time management skills
• Ability to articulate and share concepts with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to work with cross function teams and lead the team
• Objective driven, time-sensitive and resourceful
• Certificate of AUTOCAD will be added advantages.
• Site commissioning / radio surveying experience as per SOLAS / MODU will be added advantages.
• Ability to use various coverage tools such as CadnaA for PAGA, Ekahau for WIFI coverage, iBwave for UHF/GSM coverage will be added advantages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide remote and on-site technical support, including but not limited to, Incident Management and Problem Management

• Escalate incidents, problems, changes to Team Lead, Service Delivery Manager, Account Manager or vendors as per defined business rules, ensuring timely resolution of client service requests

• Liaise with vendors needed to achieve incident and problem resolution.

• Maintain detailed knowledge of clients’ environments, where applicable, by maintaining and updating relevant documentation.

• Provide high levels of customer service and resolving problems/issues with the client in a constructive manner.

• Prepare adhoc reports as required for contractual requirements.

• Contribute to ITIL based processes to ensure successful delivery of services and initiate solutions to improve quality and productivity

• Participate in client presentations when necessary

Job Requirements:

• CCNP or CCIE in Enterprise is required

• Hands-on experience in installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, wireless or switches

• Have some working knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches, SD-WAN, DNA, Wireless products in addition to Meraki Switch, Router, Wireless products

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines

• At least 3 years of experience in a technical support environment working with Cisco products

• Experience with VMWare NSX and VMWare Load balancers, is an added advantage

• Knowledge of Aruba, Bluecoat, Ironport, F5, Checkpoint, Fortigate or Juniper products is also preferred

• Able to work in a 24x7 and team environment

Overall Summary:

Network Engineer will drive the implementation of strategy for infrastructure operations and maintenance to ensure availability of stable and secure systems. He/She manages project resource allocation and develops infrastructure implementation, operations and maintenance engineers; scopes out policies and sets performance expectations. He identifies problems and presents new methodologies and/or solutions to key stakeholders to enhance and improve the delivery of infrastructure operations and maintenance services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Support infrastructure design and implementation

• Support technical system analysis to determine the extent to which solutions perform “as required” to ensure that future solutions meet anticipated demand
• Support the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions that adhere to current architecture standards
• Lead the design installations, system migration and integration
• Lead the testing and handover of implemented infrastructure solution

Support infrastructure operations

• Support delivery of optimal infrastructure operations
• Create documents on administration, installation, configuration and troubleshooting
• Apply diagnostic tools to perform technical analysis of complex software, hardware and infrastructure equipment
• Support the development of report on infrastructure capabilities and limitations

Maintain infrastructure

• Support the improvement of maintenance capability by using automation for upgrades, enterprise backup and storage
• Identify key infrastructure operations issues and maintenance priorities
• Support the implementation of agreed infrastructure change requests and maintenance routines
• Develop report on performance and availability of infrastructure systems by review of service uptime, utilisation, throughput etc.

Optimise infrastructure performance

• Support the initiatives to improve the infrastructure systems and service delivery through automation and virtualisation technologies
• Support the monitoring of performance, availability and security of infrastructure systems and key operational metrics

Resolve incidents

• Support problem/issue identification and resolution
• Escalate problems/issues
• Support simulation of user problems to resolve operating difficulties
• Diagnose problem source through discussions with users
• Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems
• Support planned maintenance events, system backup processes and disaster recovery drills
• Support implementation of preventive solutions

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• Bachelor in Computer Engineering
• Possessed CCNA, CCNP, CCIE is preferred.
• At least 5-8 years of network experience
• Experience in leading a team of 3-5 network engineer.
• Familiar with Cisco, F5, VM
• Exposure to large scale project execution
• Open to support patches/ upgrades and Tech refresh (after office hours/ weekends)
